Forum Suck Anyone?
I sat down at the computer about an hour and a half ago. I figured, alright, I've got a good hour or so to work on this mix and then I can go to bed. I thought I'd check in on a couple of posts I've been chiming in on and then get to it. All of a sudden, I'm feeling a little tired, I look at the clock, and I have no time left. It's all been sucked up by the forum! This happen to anyone else? Seth

Thats what happens when you love music and learning/talking about it. I had a convo with one of my friends about this. Its like guys who love mussel cars. Its all they talk about and its all their into. same with me except music. Ha! and im not wearing cut off T's. Only when I goto the gym to show off my baby arms.

Who else runs Asp Playground on the 'net? This stuff is temperamental, and always has been. I don't know why cake insists on using this when there is VBulletin just for starters. I see no complaints about a site's forum software like I do here. Just stop swimming upstream with Asp Playground Cake. Please? I'm gonna hit submit post and I'll bet I'll get a wait cursor for eons........

This forum doesn't steal my time nearly as badly as others I visit... and those forums are just dudes goofing around so they're not nearly as educational. Think "Coffee House x a billion". lol

Bitman - I don't mean I think the forum sucks (although it seems some people do). I actually get some really good help by lurking and occasionally posting here. I just meant that I sit around reading the forum when I could be working on music...

Maybe you're just locked into some cognitive dissonance - you know its bad but you do it anyway...

I think we all sometimes should be making music and instead get caught up in this forum and its knowledge. or its unfortunate complaints as well. yes I can agree :) the software for the forum however has been pretty good to me.

It works well for me here on my home PC. But my mobile phone (Win8) has some quirks to it. Using my phone was the only time I got the double post thing.

On the weekend when I have enough time to concentrate on making music I first disconnect the LAN cable. Then I reconnect it at lunch time, then disconnect it again after lunch, then reconnect it again at the end of the day. That's my plan but I often fail :) As for the forum software, it's working fine both on my PC (Chrome) and my Android phone (default browser).
