Found a decent way to store my Microphones in Pelican cases

I purchased several Pelican cases on sale and used this tutorial to pluck the foam that comes with the cases to store several Microphones to each case. Each case I purchased can hold two microphones and their shock mounts.

This works great.

Peace,

    Good tip! Thanks.

Are there 2 or 3 layers of cubed foam? Looked like 3.

Which cases did you get? The 1170 model?

    I got the 2 Pelican 1500 Cases

Actually the foam is broken into three  layers.  When you order your case from pelican, you have to state that you want the form inserts if you are given a choice.
    • A top protective layer for for top of case
    • A Middle layer for the body of the casea consisting of plucked foam
    • A bottom layer so your item will never touch the floor of the case.

What you can do is, after you have plucked away the amount you want for your microphone, you can fill the space back with the plucked foam if you took too much away.
