A couple of my roommates, our girlfriends and some other friends of us were all featured in a magazine article about the underground clubs in Los Angeles.  I missed out on that fortunately, but I was written up in High Times (favorably) about how I did the lighting, decorating and effects for another club (called "Altered States" - ironic considering I later became a Board Certified Hypnotherapist!).

Hmm... That's what I get for replying before checking out the video (I lasted about 2 seconds, fast-forwarded a couple of times, then killed it - there's actually 10 hours of that crap???).

Here's two that were popular when I used to go (you'll have to imagine what it's like at 70,000 watts...):

i skipped the 'fast forwarding a couple of times', in my mind there was no possibility of redemption

One thing about those early rave days was, I didn't appreciate how fit all that dancing kept us. Gyrating for 8 hours straight does gravitate one toward the whippet physique. Or perhaps that was down to the amphetamines, I can't quite put my finger on it....

You guys gave up too soon...it gets interesting at about the 9-hour mark.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
