Free NI Kore Player and Sound Bundle
Hey-- We all like free stuff, so here is what I heard. You can download a free kore player and a bundle of samples from NI's home page. I heard about it from the KVR newsletter. You can download the bundle right away, but you have to have the link to download the player emailed to you--and I've tried three times with two different email addresses and I can't get them to email me the link. I even emailed their webmaster asking for it. So, it you're interested, give it a try... NIs Home Page Under 'Happy Holidays'

I downloaded the Kore player and the Christmas pack. It comes with some pretty great synth sounds. I would definitely download if you don't already own Kore.

How long did it take them to email you the download link? I just remember downloading directly from their website. Its been a couple of months but I remember the process being fairly immediate except the 300MB Kore player download size and about the 100MB Christmas pack size (I did the Christmas pack earlier this month).

Ok - I must be thick. I've successfully downloaded Kore Player and the Compilation Vol. 1, installed both, registered Kore Player, and it won't play anything stand-alone. I can't click on the Control or Learn tabs, but it will let me select instruments in the main portion of the page. The other thing is I don't see a dll anyware so that this can be used as a vsti. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

you might need to activate it with NI like the full one have a look in your NI folder off start.. see if Service centre is listed.. and go into that.. and it'll say not activated.. perhaps.. just a matter of registering with NI if you haven't already.. then getting authorisation file.. job dun.

It's all authorized and everything, and I found the vst dll - the install put it into my emagic logic vst folder - still can't get it to work though. Maybe because my audio is not configured properly - it's using WDM right now...

run as a stand alone.. NOT vst you see a number of presets ? say 50 or something.. one of the options it to rescan / rebuild... do so and you should have another 100 added if you added the other pack.. I use asio mode.. can't say about wdm.. but if it's in vst mode.. it should take it's cue from the host.

What do you have selected for a driver in the audio part? Is it a sound that needs the transport running? Get it running correctly in standalone first before trying to use it as a plugin. It is Free which is always a nice price, and I have had no problem installing or using it w Sonar. However is very limited for tweaking and editing, which is the tease to get u to buy the KORE 2. But since i already own FM8,Reaktor,B4 II, I will pass for now. NI in My Opinion makes great sounding and easy to use instruments. Check it out if u looking for something to deviate ur time w this weekend lol

doc you have integrated FM8 / Reaktor / b4 II into it right? if not, then try that... the full version is just a far more expanded library of sounds.. and the other version features the Kore controller.. which makes life easier... basically all the same product. BUT it's the sounds + controller you pay for... try it.. import ya presets from your existing plug ins vst'i + fx... AND you might change your mind big time.. esp.. if you like making up matrix's of sound
