Free On-line Computer Sound Magazine - New Issue Posted

A new issue of WSM is available here:

http://issuu.com/wusik/docs/wsmjune2012

116 pages of nearly ad-free articles, reviews, etc.

One highlight many of you will be interested in is an extensive discussion of EQ techniques written by forum-favorite Danny Danzi.

I suspect some of you may also be interested in an interview with the Fab Filter braintrust which accompanies a Saturn review I had the pleasure of doing.

Enjoy.

This really is a cool resource.

How ever this is I think like the third time I have tried to do a (Print) or a download (PDF) of the magazine and could not.....very frustrating...

    I have an account....
I sign in, get to the magazine and it will not allow me to make a PDF of it so I can read it off line.....it could be a great resource but if it will not allow me to do this .....it is not much good to me.....

Kind of like MacPro Video's.....I love them I have a few of them however since I have a PC and not a Mac the video's do not play very well.....they jump all over the place....I have tried for months to get them to play cause they really have some great information but if they do not play I can gain no knowledge! so I eventually gave up.....

I do not know if you can help in any way and if you can that would be very cool.
    Thanks
    Clifford

Do you mean you have a Wusik account or is it something to do with Issuu?  I know very little about issuu technical aspects (or issuu accounts, if such exist).  William K, the Wusik guy, provides the framework for the volunteer writers to put the publication together, and his lovely wife does the copy layout.  With a Wusik subscription (10 bucks a month available at wusik.com), you can download issues as PDFs, as well as get access to all Wusik products.  If you have a Wusik subscription and you're having difficulties, post your problem on the KVR Wusik thread.  I suspect William has set this up so that one cannot download from issuu.com directly because he needs to make a little money off the endeavor.

    Hope that helps.

Very cool. I can honestly say that's the very first time I've come across an article on Mandelbrot sets (chaos theory) in the middle of a music magazine. Totally unexpected and fun reading. Thanks!!!!

Hey David, $10 a month is a bit steep for an electronic publication that you can download and still have to print out if you want. I pay that now for a full glossy printed version of Sound on Sound. Is that price you quoted correct?

I have just checked the Wusik site and it is indeed that cost. But you get more such as updates, products and sounds etc. That is all good if that is what you want but it would be good to just pay a small monthly fee for just the magazine download though. I might check out that option on the Issuu site perhaps.

I'm just a volunteer writer/editor and it's not my call, but I do agree with you, Jeff.  A smaller fee for a magazine-only subscription seems more than reasonable.  I'll pass your comments on to William K.  I'm curious as to what folks might think an appropriate price.  $5 an issue, maybe?  That'd be $30 a year, since issues come out every other month.
