Free SONAR 6 with SONAR 5 upgrade

A few weeks ago I upgraded my SONAR 4 SE to SONAR 5 SE... When I did, I understood I would receive a free upgrade to SONAR 6 SE. SONAR 6 is released, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now? Do I contact Cakewalk, or are they just going to send me SONAR 6 SE?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I was also wondering this as it seems some have had theirs in the states. i am in UK so gather that UK would be later than USA in receiving them anyway, but not too sure if i need to ask for it or what!

I believe those of us who took advantage of this are probably last on the distribution list. Just wait a few weeks and after all of the pre-order folks have gotten theirs, we should start to get ours.

Yeah, I was thinking this may be the case. I'll wait a couple of weeks before asking again.

    Thanks!

Yea, but some of us who bought from a retailer had to mail in a form for the rebate and to be put on the update list. I don't think they've received all of the information from the rebate company yet, so I don't even think we're on the list. This is according to a lady at Cakewalk. Argh.

I received my Sonar 6 PE on Wednesday, also. I ordered my Sonar 5 upgrade from the web store.

I will add that for some reason, my Sonar 5 didn't come with Serial number. So I spent over an hour on hold this afternoon and a very nice (but apparently tired) lady at Cakewalk took care of my problem. She said that they had several people out sick and over 100 calls in the queue at that moment. She was not aware that they were shipping version 6 yet.

    Take care.

Ok, so you did nothing? Sonar 6 just appeared in the mail? When you say Sonar 5 didn't come with a Serial Number, do you mean Sonar 6?

    Thanks again,

I got the Cakewalk emails stating that version 6 was going to start shipping and I saw comments in the forum from people who had received their copy of 6. I got an email on Tuesday, the 26th that it had been shipped on the 25th and I received it on the 27th. I didn't have to do anything to trigger the shipment.

As for the serial numbers, my version 6 had a serial number on the label inside the DVD case. Version 5 did not, and that was the version I had to get from Cakewalk this afternoon. (Yes, I had sat on the version 5 at home for awhile, because I'm having PC problems. Timely, eh?)

Edit: This is the Producer version that I'm writing of, but I would think the shipment procedure would be the same.

    Take care.

confirmed....I ordered 5 online August 11th and received 6 yesterday without doing anything. The serial was in the DVD case (unlike 5 as DMRoller stated).

Yeah I just bought mine about 2 weeks ago from Sweetwater. I've got my Sonar 5 and have mailed in the rebate (the first day!). FWIW, I have not even installed Sonar 5 yet because I'm in the middle of a session right now. Once that is done, I will get to play with my new toy. I'm wondering if S6 will show up before I even get to install 5.

I am in the same boat - haven't heard a thing yet from CW. Figured I would try contacting them directly if I don't hear from them by the end of Oct.

Id be interested if any 6's have turned up yet.
I ordered 5 SE (get 6SE free) on 9th August from Cakewlak webstore. I have as yet not received any email regarding V6 or indeed V6SE. i am in UK.
I would send an email to customer services but still waiting for a reply from 10th August...

I still have heard nothing from CW...I did call and they said that they need to get the info from the company that takes care of the rebates (the $100 rebate) and I should wait a few weeks. I was in the system and all was good, but they had not received the info yet. So, I wait...which is ok at this point since I'm in the middle of a project now, so, I couldn't take advantage right now anyway...as much as I'd like to!!!!

I've STILL not heard anything... no emails no letters... nothing. I ordered the upgrade from 4 to 5 DIRECTLY from Cakewalk's website, so there's no 'rebate' forms or additional info needed from me...

Anybody from Cakewalk out there to reassure us? At least an email stating that they know we're out there and will get to us eventually...
