Free Update from Recently Bought X2 to X3?
I just recently upgraded from Sonar Producer X1 to X2. My order date (listed on Cakewalk Store) was 8/31/2013. (And I have been so busy lately, I haven't yet even installed X2!) Now I see there is already a Sonar X3. I know that usually when one buys a software version, and a newer version comes out within a short period of time, one is eligible to get the newer version for free. So, is it possible for me to get X3 for free, due to the recently purchased X2? If so, please tell me how. (I did not see a way to do that at the Cakewalk Store, which would charge me $149 for the upgrade.) Please let me know. Thank you.

This is here on the site: Any customer who has registered a retail purchase of SONAR X2 from September 1 - October 31 2013, qualifies for a free upgrade to the corresponding version of SONAR X3. NOTE: SONAR X2 Upgrades purchased via the Cakewalk Store do not qualify for a free SONAR X3 upgrade. For what its worth.

Missed by one day! Dang! But also, since I purchased the upgrade to x2 through the Cakewalk store. (I wonder why that policy?) Well, I guess I won't be upgrading to X3 any time soon, having just upgraded ti X2, and with a cost of $150 to upgrade to x3.

maikii I wonder why that policy?
To help retailers get rid of their inventory of boxed retail versions of X2.

I understand your angst, but why don't you e-mail/contact them to ask them to make a "commercial gesture", thats what i would do, quietly like. And i wouldn't post the results.
Cheers, Jerry

If you bought the X2 Producer upgrade while on sale for $49, then buying X3 Producer upgrade for $149 would be the same price you would have paid going from X1 Pro to X3 Pro. Dan

hey maikii, I posted similar issue and before you know it I was called a winger. What I suggest is don't go for their sales as they are more likely not going to save you much, in fact are going to cost you more. maybe for any of their future sales on offer you might want to enquire with their sales team first... jim
