How do you make the icons. What are the specs?

Find a graphic you like. Convert to a bitmap (if not already in .bmp form). Use Windows Explorer with MS free resize program added (included in Windows powertoys) to resize the file to a 128X128 file size in .bmp form. You may need to crop the original graphic file (I use MS Digital Image Suite) to a perfectly square pixel size (like 412X412) prior to resizing it to 128X128 so that it will not have empty sides when resized. Place in you Sonar/track icons folder.

I read in another thread that the bmp's were supposed to be 96 x 96 and the background should be gray (you can steal this color from the Sonar blank icon with en eyedropper). So I have actually found some pictures of good looking women and converted to icons - intended for backing tracks with sampled oohs, ahs etc. Also you can easily find musical instruments (many stores have fine pictures in their sites) and convert to icons. If you have a digital camera chances are you also got a photo program that will do these basic tasks. In fact I have even used Paint that comes with XP to change colors of some of Sonars icons. For instance I have given the arrows in the bus icon different colors, because I use color coding for different instruments: Brown for Bass, Orange for Organ, Violet for Violins etc. Don't forget, there are more icons here: http://editthis.info/sonar/Free_Downloads

Thank you! I do some light Flamenco music and the hand clapping icon is nice addition. I ended up using Gerardo Nunez's Calima CD cover for the hand clapping which sort of looked cool but your icons are very nice. Eric

Not sure what you mean. But when my backgrounds don't come through, I put a dark edge along the top and bottom of the space. I think you only need the top one, but then I feel out of balance!

I mean the background should be transparent so that it assumes whatever color is behind the icon. In the case of the handclap some of the white was left. So I changed everything except the hands to background. BTW I loaded some of Cake's icons and they are all 96 x 96. So I guess you don't need more than that. In case someone make a huge collection of icons for us larger size may add to download cost. BTW 2, I stumbled across this: www.shutterstock.com Try a search for "singer" or "music". Lots of stuff that can be used for icons, and fortunately we only need the thumbnails with no nag text across them.

do you have to reset the icons for every new song or can they be set permanent..ie everytime u load say drums u get the drum icon..if so how do u do it?
