Freefall Electronica

Another remix/rework of an older track that got forgotten for a while.

Update:  Uploaded a new version (3/3) that's less compressed so that it hopefully sounds better on soundcloud.

John, this is a trip!  The mix is clear and balanced, and the soundscape is fantastic.  The arrangement had enough parts to keep me listening, and your use of dynamics make this a winner.  Way to go.

    All the best,

Many thanks Lynn for you encouraging comments. Very much appreciated.  Glad you liked it.

I only wish you could hear how it sounded before soundcloud's converter decimated the depth and dynamics out of it.

Just uploaded a less compressed version to counteract soundcloud's converter. Sounds more crisp and open now i think.

Hey John long time no hear. I love the flow of this piece and the panning of the lazer synth sounds awesome.  I really like the break down at 1:22.  Your separation and the wide stereo spectrum of sounds are FANTASTIC on my end. Soundcloud converter didn't hurt your mix that bad on my end. The panning and the overall mix is really sweet ear candy.  On my third listen . . . really great job on EOing the high and low ends.  Glad to see you back and I'm looking forward to hearing more.

Hi John --- I have to blame you for introducing me and getting me interested in this genre of music.  When I listen to this style, I have found that occasionally some of it can be kind of repetitive and can cause one to lose interest.  However, certainly not in your case.  Your use of different sounds, blending of these sounds, change-ups, and arrangements always make listening a treat.

I gave it a spin, but didn't really care too much for that rattling synth? And it was really dominating the mix for me in the beginning of the song.

    Hey John,
Just wanted to say, I'm not a real fan of the genre, but your mix was put together very well.   I've been commenting on other tunes and on one hand didn't want to comment on yours because of my predisposed dislike for the genre.  On the other hand, I didn't want to appear as to completely avoid commenting and make you think you were being shunned for some reason.  My musical taste shouldn't matter and keep up what you enjoy.  Great job.

    Best,

Whenever I listen to your tunes, the words that always come to mind are soft and delicate.

It feels like there was so much time and thought into selecting sounds and arranging your material that it just all fits together like a Faberge egg. I admire how you can take a great line and just put it in the background, supporting the piece, whereas I would just mercilessly and rather thoughtlessly drive it home.

    Excellent.

Up to your usual high standards.  But what struck me about this one was the development throughout the piece.  Impressive.  The short middle section reminded me of some of the chemical brother's work on Hanna.

    Excellent.
