Freezing synths sometimes causes audio to go nuts and berserk?

I have been having a problem lately where after I freeze a synth, and then play my project right after, the audio goes NUTS. I'm talking a like loud SSSSHHCCHZzjjsKJSLLSKSKskskSSAAZZZ!!!!!!

Seriously sounds like it would damage my monitor speakers. And when it happens with my headphones on, sounds like I could bust one (or both) of my eardrums. And basically after this happens, the project never playbacks normally. I have to close and re-open the project to get it working normally again.

Anyone experience this? Know how to fix it? I'm traumatized... afraid to use SONAR in medium-high volumes now...

This has happened to me and many many others. "They" call it a "driver issue" with the audio interface.   it's happened other daws.

"... and then play my project right after ..."

How quickly "right after". I've noticed it's very often good to give SONAR a second or two to breathe after spurts :o) My PC is rather low end, but anyway, I figure there's something complicated going on for a short while still after the frozen audio has emerged in the track view. If I try to push too eagerly SONAR gets stiff legs like a donkey.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

It's been suggested in another recent thread to set up a limiter on the master bus to avoid potential damage to hardware and/or ear drums when loud outbursts occur. Thought it was pretty good advice.

Ok I've been playing around with some stuff and I've found out that this has become a big problem. Every synth, when it is frozen, creates this problem. If I freeze a synth, the playback becomes un-playable. I am forced to close the project and re-open it. What's going on? It didn't used to be like this. As of right now, I cannot freeze any synths at all. I've tried loading synths with both Jbridge and Bitbridge, and the problem exists for both... help anyone?

I've done that here..of course, after I got blasted by the noise....

    I'm wondering whether that isn't MIDI/Audio somehow....
