Freezing synths.....it's the little things that drive you nuts!

Can someone please explain why in Platinum when I unfreeze a synth track that I am looking at in TV that when it finishes unfreezing that I am no longer looking at that track and instead looking at some other random track that is in no way connected, so I then have to scroll back /forward to find the track I'm supposed to be looking at ??

Also, if I then undo the unfreeze, why does it then decide that I no longer want to see that track at all and hide it ?

Doesn't happen in X3, so somewhere along the way this behaviour has been introduced and I can't think of any good reason why.

This happens when another track is selected (track name is highlighted).

    Also happens when freezing.

To avoid this behavior 1st select the track (click on its name) you are freezing/unfreezing.

Hmm, okay I'll have to check that on my DAW PC tomorrow. I only have one project on this www pc and if I select track 37 in that as the focus and unfreeze, the focus shifts to track 5 which is unrelated in any way.

*Focusing* highlights the track #. That won't work. The track *name* has to be highlighted. This is the difference between focus and select. If it still doesn't work then somethings amiss.

Ok, I see now that it is possible to have the track number highlighted but not the name ( Not sure of the logic behind that) and you are right, if the name is highlighted as well then it doesn't move the TV. That said, surely the fact that I have just unfrozen a track, whether or not it was the highlighted one, should suggest that I want to look at that track not the last one I was looking at who knows when ?

It still hides the track if I undo the unfreeze command and I see no logic to that.......

"sorry sonar, I made a mistake and I didn't mean to unfreeze that track after all, please put it back the way it was"

" ok paulo, but because of that I'm going to assume that you don't want to see that track any more."

    Err, no.

    Doesn't happen in X3.

I just confirmed that this does happen in X3 when unfreezing but not when freezing.

    Freezing:
X3 - auto-selects the track you are freezing and stays there.
SPlat - does not auto-select the track you are freezing and will bounce back to the currently selected track afterward.

    Unfreezing:
X3 - does not auto-select the track you are unfreezing and will bounce back to the currently selected track afterward.
SPlat - does not auto-select the track you are unfreezing and will bounce back to the currently selected track afterward.

I would think Sonar should auto-select the track you're working on no matter what you're doing to it.
