Very nice. I can understand every word. The song and the recording are both well done. John B.

Nice song Olivier! I will say that the brush on the snare is a little too up front for my tastes. Guitar work is very tastefully done. You did a good job singing in a non-native language. Regards, Dan

Please feel free to post the French version if you have it! Nice job of translation. I'd agree the brush snare needs to be a little lower, and it sounds like you have compressed it maybe? I dunno, perhaps try it with the compressor off. It would breathe more. Vocal is nice, just simply seems to fit. -Tom

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your comments
Thank you David. One of the best product I got is a load box which allows me to track the guitar directly from the amp ,then add a speaker impulse and almost nothing else.
John, thanks ,I've heard that once you are more than one year old they are certain consonances you cannot hear and identify anymore so I'm glad you could understand despite the prononciation .
Hi Dan thanks,I agree thoose brushes are quite unreal much too loud got to go back to it.
Thank you Tom. It is not actually a translation ,I wrote it directly in english but with my french songwriting processes. Well you must have been directly in my computer because yes ,I compressed the snare buss and I will look forward following your tip.
All the best. Olivier

beautiful. You sound like Ringo Starr trying to fake a french accent when you sing in english! Bet you didn't know that....

Hi David, Thank you for listening. I must admit that I absolutely didn't know I was Ringo Starr's reference when it came to sing in english with a french accent😇. Cheers, Olivier.

hi, changed some things in the mix... Brought back brushes after the bridge, seems to come a little bit more coherent, however I can hear voice is not good. It might be a matter of language ,or tone a little high for my center or a lack of commitment in the singing.Anyway it does not sound so,I will have to go back to it ,maybe translate it and go to it in my native language,or retrack it with a better level of concentration.Another option is that if one of you is interested to sing it I can transmit the playback. One of the pleasure with singing in a foreign language is that you dare to tell things you would not if ou were really aware of what you are saying but maybe here,I went too....far. Cheers. Nice song. Your English is better than some of the people from here! Such an interesting tune. The instruments translate well in English. Respect to you for this effort. Song is great and it is played and produced nicely. I'm happy you found our forum.

Very nice Olivier. Everything is very subtle and tastefully done. My only criticism is the vocal is a little too loud and dry - needs a tiny amount of reverb (just my opinion)

really nice soft song... agree with daryl, to me, the voice is a bit muddy in the low mids, and could use just a bit of 'sheen' or very high on the vocal to bring out a bit more clarity a bit of reverb WOULD make it sit much nicer. not so much that you actually hear the effect...

Hi Warren, Thank you for listening and for your comment,I think that this forum is a cool place.
Hi Daryl , Thanks. I wish you are right,if I can bring the vocals up to par with verb it will spare me a good amount of time.
Hi Gonzo. Thanks to you also for listening . Actually I sung this song more in a songwriter spirit than in a performer's mood ( I know it is a mistake, anytime one doesn't make its best on every part of a project then it is much more work at hand to make things work alltogether.) I will look forward applying your advice and see what comes out,or else I will have to record better vocal performance( if I can)..
Thanks again to all of you. Cheers. Olivier

Hi, thanks to the insight from your last feedback ,I changed the mix by adding a little bit of verb on the voice and played a little bit around with eq. I think I'm done with that song for now... I really want to thank the forum members ,I truly appreciate your accurate tips and the way you share them with ease and without giving the feel that you are sitting on a higher chair than the one you are talking to(me in this case(:- ...) Cheers. Olivier https://soundcloud.com/ol...eot-2/light-years-away

Olivier, Very good song. Enjoyed it.. I hear some Ringo in the vocals but would have leaned more toward Lumière in Beauty and The Beast:) Very good.

Hi Mark, Thank you for listening, You must be a kind of a wizzard because I actually work in Disneyland Paris as a third party ( not as musician though..) I did not notice it but ,yes ,there is some fairy tale groove in the things I write down, though it is not a mean ,it just happens this way. Cheers.
