Frequency Analyzer

I am going to throw my hat into the Mastering arena and have been doing some research on how to look at the frequency of a track to help remove unwanted frequencies.  What effect do we have in X1 that will analyze frequency and give a visual display better than Multi Band Eq by Sonitus?

An audio plug-in called Analyst. You can get others (some for free) elsewhere on the web.

    No.

Or rather, the site is blocked by my work ISP.

Just do a Google search for Voxengo Span.

Ditto on Span-I use it quite a lot. Prefer it to Analyst.

MAnalyzer from MeldaProduction is good for identifying the peaks.
The free version has some features disabled but still works well.

I don't suppose this is something that can be used in X1 in real time is it?

Absolutely. You can even play white noise through your speakers, plug a mic in and turn input monitoring on and see the frequency response of your room/speakers at the listening position by watching SPAN in real time.
I posted some instructions some time ago...ah, here they are. The pictures show the old version of SPAN (the thread's 4 years old) but the new version works fine as well.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Ok I Found it so here come the dumb questions the reading across the bottom I assume are hertz and level across the sides are volume levels?  IF that is correct my bass line is not even making it to 0 is that bad?

    No, not really.

I've just run it on the master buss of a project which to all intents & purposes is "mastered" and even this doesn't make it to  anywhere near 0dB
