Fresh install, some plugins have weird layout, 'always on top'?

Hi there

I just did a fresh install of Sonar 8, and updated it to 8.3, for my new PC. Some of the plugins have an odd layout that doesn't allow me to save presets, and also forces the plugins to be 'always on top'. You can see in the image below - the TP Basslane plugin has the weird layout, and it's also on top of the Sonitus EQ even though I've selected the Sonitus EQ and I'm trying to edit that plugin. It's also got its own icon on the taskbar on the left. This isn't the only plugin that has it, some do, some don't. Any idea how to turn this 'feature' off?

    So you don't mean 8.5.3?

I remember 8.5 needed to turn off automatic scan for plugins at startup. Otherwise there was a alwaysontop-thingy.

What's changed? Were you previously using the 32 bit version? I can see the bitbridge icon in the TP Basslane window.  Bitbridge exhibits a always on top behavior. If its a problem for you try JBridge.

Also check and see if there are 64 bit versions of your plugins.

As I was unfamiliar with TP Basslane I looked it up to see what it should look like. I am not sure what you mean by "weird layout" Yours looks the same as the screen shot on the Tone Projects website.

I think you must be refering to the fact that it is in the Bitbridge GIU, which supports my theroy you have just upgraded to 64 bit.

Yes, I have just moved from 32 to 64bit. Should've mentioned that, but didn't think the layout would change because of that. From a quick Google, Bitbridge/JBridge are basically wrappers for 32bit plugins to work in a 64bit environment? How do I change to JBridge (I never selected/installed Bitbridge in the first place)?

JBridge can be down loaded here. Try the demo and if it works for you you can buy the full version.

Use is different depending on the version of Sonar you are using. In 8.5 and above you just need to tell the VST scan to use JBridge, on older versions its a bit more complex but explained in the JBridge documentation.

Bitbridge is installed automatically with Sonar 64
