Friday 13th
Hey all, It's been a mad week and somewhere along the way I lost some latency. As you know tomorrow is Friday the thirteenth for the second month in a row (there is one in Nov. also) and I'm afraid that if I can't find it by midnight tonight I wont be able to get it back.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Your latency was imprisoned and will be tried for heresy by noon today and summarily executed. Much like the templars.............

I would wait until late and see if it comes back. Or, if you love it set it free, if it comes back, it is good, real good.

somewhere along the way I lost some latency Yes, they had some testruns with the Large Hadron Collider last week. Probably just a minor ripple through the space-time continuum. Nothing to worry about. You may experience some deja vu as well.

He was closer to the colider than we are. So he's felt the effects before we did. We're due to the feel the effects yesterday 5 weeks ago.

Indeed. They gain momentum as they go, though. By the time it reaches April 26, 1986, at exactly 01:23:45 a.m, it will trigger Chernobyl. You didn't think *Reagan* won the cold war, did ya?

No I had no misconceptions........... Wasn't it the first time they fired the Hadron Collider that someone said they'd create a black hole? For all we no we are perpetually falling into one and just don't know it yet......

Well it would mean a very surprised look on my face, at least - since I'm pretty firmly convinced they don't exist. But they were mentioned as 'possibly' being created, and according to some Italian researchers they could stick around longer than predicted in earlier models. But then again, my ideas about physics work fine without. I even recall reading their originator in modern physics, Karl Schwarzschild, thought they didn't have any right to exist. I've been saying that for the last 15 years, much to the amusement of mainstream science 'followers'. But apparently, that's changing a bit. http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/2007/06/black-holes-don.html

Yeah, but they did not say anything about White Holes, did they? Misdirection at it's finest.

The 13th falls on Friday more often than any other day of the week.

I think that perhaps that the large Higgins Bottom's Cauldrons black hole collided with my latency and stole it. Bugger... or maybe the dingo's got my late 'n' see I don't believe in the big bang theory my self but there is probably a few black holes that have been the victim of a big bang or two.

I've lost latency in the past, but I always seem to gain it back. Traveler's Tip: try to book your flight on the 13th of the month if you can. It will increase the odds of having an empty seat next to you. Seriously. I once managed to get a trans-Pacific flight on a Friday the 13th, and had the rare luxury of an empty seat beside me - very much appreciated on a 10-hour flight!
