so that they can be used in other hosts...

Even at full price these are a good value, if you compare them to high-end equivalents such as Pro-Q and Pro-MB. For those situations where linear-phase is desired, these would get you 90% of the way to FabFilter goodness for 25% of the price.

They have added a lot of "Mixing" presets that default to non-linear mode.  So it's not just for mastering anymore.

In the original version all presets defaulted to one of the linear modes, which you had to manually un-select, if you wanted non-linear without the look ahead buffering.  If you selected a new preset, back to linear.  This did not work well if you were using a virtual instrument, or doing any kind of real-time FX.  That is just the way linear works, but if you have already bounced everything down to audio, no problem.

It's nice to have more options.  I really like the interface on the EQ and MB!

DAW: CbB; Sonar Platinum, and others ...

i much prefer the waves plugs, for me the overall outcome/sound is just better, and i find it easier to get what i want, perhaps due to long time use. the cakewalk plugs have a nicer gui and of course the waves gui is a bit dated, luckily that has no effect on sound/sound quality another thing i found id that the cakewalk offerings have noticeably/significantly higher cpu usage. the first (and last) time i loaded the cakewalk plugs in studio one 3 pro it crashed s13, the first crash i have ever had in studio one in the 2+ years since i switched over. i'll be sticking with the waves (and other) plugs so they wont be getting much use from me.
