From Hardware to Software...

Aloha fellow note benders, mixers, etc;
Recently purchase Sonar X2 Essentials after much research, my recording/mixing/etc last 20+ years mostly done with Roland products, after using Sonar X2 Essentials I wanted to mess with vocal tracks and noticed I need R-Mix to do what I want which is in Sonar Producer, is there an upgrade or do I need to sell X2 Essentials and buy Sonar X2 producer to get the R-Mix feature?  Is there a similar plug in?

    R-Mix was included with X2 Producer. That has been superseded by X3 which doesn't have R-Mix bundled with it.

    Your best hope is to see if you can find a retailer still selling a boxed version of X2 Producer or buy R-Mix as a separate product. I don't know of anything similar although if there is one someone on here will know about it.

    That is something you may want to contact CW about. There was a free upgrade from X2 Producer (retail) to X3 Producer, BUT I am not sure what the time window is on that offer. As Karl said, if you can find a boxed version of X2 Producer (upgrade), you may be able to get both X2 Producer and X3 Producer in one purchase; but PLEASE contact CW customer support and ask first. I would even tell them your situation and ask if they can extend this offer for you if it has expired.

    Edit: I just went searching for R-MIX stand alone and it was ~$200! X2 Producer also has "V-Vocal" which is another nifty plug-in that was not continued in X3, so if you can take advantage of the original post you will benefit the most.

    Thank you both for fast response to this and helping me with this, been shopping and, yup! $499 at cakewalk, $499 at amazon,  $299 open box at amazon almost bought, feel uncomfortable with open box, (registration, etc) you never know with software, ebay $299 x1-x2 upgrade, so I need to sleep on this one, I'm so green with this, been doing MIDI hardware so long with lots of keys, modules, etc. but know I need to do this, thanks again......
