From me to me :P

I'd been eyeing those remaster digipak editions for a while every time we went to WalMart and today felt like a good day to start rebuilding the Beatles section of my music library. Beginning w/ Abbey Road, for no particular reason.

I'm anxious to re-discover some of those albums on CD. I originally bought most of them on vinyl in the early 90s. I also owned a couple of tapes. But these are long gone.

Obviously, I do have all the official UK and US catalog in MP3/Apple format on my HD - and back ups, and back ups of those back ups.

Usually, I tend to find that older music doesn't suffer as much from being converted to MP3. I've been listening to those albums again recently, and it really ain't that bad, but I'm curious to check out how much difference I hear.

I'm also really curious to finally hear those older albums which include the original mono mixes. I was glad to see that they'd also re-released the US catalog. I'm particularly found of those US version of A Hard Day's Night and Help, with the instrumental stuff on it. As a die hard fan of the style and sound of 60's movie music, the extra instrumental/orchestral arrangements are a huge bonus.
