Frontier Tranzport ...

Hi all,

I see, in doing a search, that there are those using the Transport with X1. I've been using the Tranzport for several years with earlier versions of Sonar. I recently built a new DAW computer and installed X1. I've got the transmitter/receiver hooked up to the DAW and the remote is linked to it: ie, the green light is glowing solid on both units. This, after DLing the latest driver from Frontier's website.

In X1, I went into Preferences> MIDI> Devices, set the Tranzport as input and output device. It shows up under the MIDI> Instruments window. In MIDI> Playback and Recording, I checked Tranzport under MIDI Sysx Echo Ports.

For some reason, it's not doing anything in Sonar. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Not to be obvious, but you also loaded it as a Control Surface, right?  Working fine here...

I found the list of Controller Surfaces, any idea which to use? The Tranzport is not on that list. It's been so long since I did this, that I can't remember what I did!  lol

    Thanks!

    Joel,
I don't know, my AlphaTrack shows up under Midi Devices and Control surfaces. I didn't have to do anything special.  When you click on the Utilities Menu, do you see it at the bottom? That's where I see my AlphaTrack also.

    No, it's not showing anywhere.

Seems there is supposed to be a .dll file in Cakewalk/Shared Surfaces folder. Not finding that file anywhere on my computer. Going to try deleting the driver and reinstalling. I have version 1.3.3 on CD, but DL'd version 1.5.0 from Frontier's site. It's supposed to work with Win 7 x 64.

Will see if a re-install will work.

    Thank you!

    Long live the Tranzport

I'll have three fingers of Glenlivet, with a little bit of pepper... and some cheese.

How did you get it working?!??

I have the same problem. Tranzport works fine with SONAR 8.

Won't work at all with SONAR X1. Tranzport is selected as control surface.

Tried to download 1.5 driver from Frontire site. The Frontier site link for the driver loops back to home page. Can anyone help?

I finally found a direct link to the driver from a Google search.
This was the only way I could access the driver:

    http://www.frontierdesign...rt_Win_Setup_1.5.0.zip

After installing the new driver and plug-in, the Tranzport is now working with SONAR X1.

I've found I must have the Tranzport connected before starting Sonar.  If I start Sonar then connect the Tranzport it won't work.
