Fruity Loops 10 producer Edition with Sonar X1D

Anybody using this combo !! Just had fl10Producer bought as a present but im struggling with its interface .Sonar picked it up ok as a rewire but i cant seem to get anything working !!!
I am a Trance /Electro user (signed to The Blacklabel) and fl has some interesting features i want to use within Sonar to add to my productions .Any help or pointers in the right direction would be helpful
Cheers

FL Studio is a very different type DAW to X1. I would go to the FL site and look at the videos about it there. It started life as a tracker and has that sort of philosophy as its core.

Thanks !! Its not user friendly and i suppose the DAW that you are comfortable with is -ie Sonar !!!

I wouldn't say its not user friendly. I would say it has a very different way of doing things.

Remember that I was a linear DAW user which Sonar is before I bought FL 4. many years ago. I like it none the less. But it is a tad confusing for one that is use to a Sonar type DAW.

What I found interesting about it is when I have worked in in it I always think how I could do the same thing in Sonar.

I am not going to say FL Studio is not a great DAW but I will say its a different animal from Sonar in almost every area.

They both have something to offer.

John, I think the same about Ableton Live. It's a great program for live performance, for composing and creativity, etc. I just found it weird when I was asked to mix a song in it because there are a number of ways they designed it differently from most DAW software because of its initial philosophy.

On the flip side, Ableton is more seamless for live performance/DJ stuff, even with Sonar's tweaked Matrix view.

    Peace,

I've never tried Live. I have no opinion on it.

I do appreciate you're taking the time to explain your position, Tune.

I have heard good things about Live.

I love Live .. it's one of my top used DAWS (Sonar, Studio One, Live).   I wish Sonar had some of the great and flexible routing Live has, frankly.

And I think it's a much better app for dance/trance than FL.  Fl is a bit restrictive in its mixing approach, IMHO.

Sonar + Live also makes a great pair (live for sketching ideas, Sonar for mixing).

rewiring FL is only possible with x32 sonar.

I managed to run x32 FL10 VST Plugin in Sonar X1 x64 via jBridge, plus rewiring x32 Live 8 into FL10 VST Plugin...

JackAudio for streaming audio between apps and virtual midi ports for (not sample accurate) synchronization does work to.
