FuzzPlus by Audio Damage. Same guys that offer the sublime Rough Rider compressor.
 
Resonance and fequency controls model the distortion effect nicely. Distortion core gets a thumbs up 3 out of 5 in my book.
 
Delivers almost great if Rough Rider comp free is sequenced before FuzzPlus. Good match from the same devs.
 
Sounded like there is almost an internal gate against noise swell, especially with a comp upline. The first distortion box I've played that gives this benefit. Worth checking out even if it's not the most refined stomp...
