Fuzzy Lust

This is my take on 'Muskrat Love' written by Willis Allen Ramsey (he said I could do it). Yea, the same one done by captain and tenille which is pretty schmalzy. Willis's version is the real deal.

Anyway this is my smooth jazz rendition.

Man Tim - this is really great - you make Captain and Tenille look bad. You've got the smooth jazz thing down nicely - love this.

I too lust after fuzzy things... But there's nothing cute whatsoever about a muskrat... They are nasty rodents! I do like your song though. Your talent is impressive.

    Hi Tim,

It's been awhile since I have been contributing here.  I always loved your songs/production.  This one is stellar.  I am using Equator D5's in my newly acoustic foamed room and your mix sounds stellar.  I love the feel.
I have a lot of catching up to do.

Great job.  Wishing you much success on the album.  I am going to check out other cuts.

I kept waiting to hear that "Carlton string bend", sounded like an arrangment he would do.  This is really a nice mix.  Good melodic phrasing, stayed with and around the melody just enough.  I like this a lot Tim!  Very pretty.

Thanks Mark,  Glad you likey. I think making them look bad is a pretty easy task, no:)

Fuzzy things usually turn out OK Robbay. eh? Possums ain't much purtier.
    Thanks.

Sultry's good Mr. Ed. Me like's sultry. Casual but not too bold. Thanks Ed.

Hey Rimshot . Nice to see you back. Thanks for the listen and nice comments.
Not familiar with the Equator D5s. I find it pretty easy to make something sound good on studio monitors. It's everything else that baffles me usually:)

Thanks Daryl. Ha.. OK, were there any Carlton string bends? I forgot:)
Actually, I put a copy of my CD right in Larry's hand, so, i guess he didn't like it (or, most likely it just became a frisbee....) Thanks

Hey Bob. Thanks man. Lovin all your new rockin stuff.

You got me from the opening guitar – just beautiful – from the octaves on the guitar to the subtle synth. You know just what you’re doing – the dynamics also make this captivating. The “space’ or room feeling is really wonderful,.  Total pro production. The guitar flows like water – you have a great feel for the phrasing and fret-board. I find myself being envious and appreciative. Okay, mostly envious.

Totally agree with Mark above....incredible mix and playing Tim! Soo smooth man with some unpredictable textures that just brought this to another level.

One thing (please don't beat me up) that sort of messed up the vibe at times for me was the thing that sounded like an air hose on the snare/cymbals in sections. I kinda wish that wasn't there, but that's my only little crit. This is so good I can easily forget that effect is there. :) Great job brother....hope that comment doesn't offend you, not my intention, honest.

While this was spot on I heard no LC string bends.   No one bends a note like Carlton.  He's the only guitarist I can recognize from a single one-step bend.  It's uncanny how someone can make a one-step bend a unique and recognizable style.  But I'm not trying to pirate your thread, your song and execution here was absolutely marvelous!

I've met a lot of artists over the years, and although I've not had the chance to meet Larry, I have seen him live and he has always been a guitar hero of mine.

Hey Danny. Beat up on Danny D..?   ME?? What? I don't think so.. You've got a great set of ears my friend cause I don't hear any air hoses. LOL.. But I'm sure they're there if you say so. Just don't know what to do about it as the mix is done:)
Thanks for the kind words Danny.

Daryl. Ha.. I went and listened and there is ONE official bend. It, however is a whole step so, yea, I guess that doesn't count:) Yea, Larry was my hero for quite a while back in the day. Him and Robben Ford had me chasin rainbows for quite a while.
