GO TO Plugins for Tracking (EQ & REVERB)

Hello,

I wonder what do you guys use for tracking? (REVERB & EQ)
I love the sound of the uad Plate140 and Lexicon 224. Is there a good native equivalent?

Sometime ago I started using the pro-channel for tracking. When mixing I normally go straight to uad plugins.

thanks
joni

Forgive me for saying this, but you do know that whatever plugins are active when tracking will not be printed to the track yes?

    Sure.
But it does help to record with good sound, both the talent and me & engineer.

By the way, we would not use anything if the effects were printed during tracking!

    Yeah, fair enough.

It's just that it's surprising just how many people still think they can track with plugins and wonder why their effect is not being recorded.

It depends on your setup, how you route & record.

For any cpu issues or getting a performance I'll sometimes track vsti's: drum kit, synths ( orchestral through VSL's VEPro 5)
Recording a basic track in real time while printing the verb & eq is tracking.

Forgot to mention I also use convo for bouncing or tracking orchestral parts.
Lately I've been using VSL's MIR shortened impulses to behave more like er's, then an insert of either a convo tail using Pristine Space , Waves IR-1, or an algo tail using VSL's MIRacle, PhoenixVerb, or Aether.

Love the flaws, that's what helps keep ITB somewhat realistic & musical.

Yep there is a nice verb on the octa capture for tracking but im in the Bapu camp on this.
Valhalla vintage verb is amazing tho.
Generally use the High pass switch on mic for vox.
