GT3 PRO

Hi All
I've had to re load GT3 on my PC (windows xp) but am having trouble getting the re 'R' to light up when I try to record. When I did get it to light up GT3 would not register a signal for recording. (no blue light pulsing on the screen) I know the signal is good as getting a reponse on my mixer and alesis io2 interface. All was working normally just a couple of weeks ago and I'm guessing it's something to do with the Audio tab on GT3 and the settings. Options are Realteck AC97 (my PC card) and USB Device (my IO2 interface)
Sounds are coming thru my computer speakers as normal and I have a couple of Edirol Speakers plugged into my IO2 interface. Have tried many combinations on the GT3 Audio tab and it's showing WDM/KS on driver mode. On the Driver screen 'Input' and 'Output' are populated with Realtek AC97 and USB Device and are all 'greyed' out. Any help would be appreciated thanks. John / West Sussex UK

Disable the realtek. You no longer need it with your interface. Set the Alesis for your input/output. That should do it.

    Hi John

Randy's right on the money here - if you go to the Advanced tab in GT3's Audio Options you should also be able to select the device drivers GT should work with:

If GT is set to 'Use Default' it will probably be trying to access the Realtek drivers, setting this option to ASIO should direct GT to access the ASIO 2.0 drivers your Alesis uses.

    OR,
I got a Windows update, last Friday I think, that disrupted my E-MU0404. All the meters registered, just no sound.
I did a System Restore to just before that loaded, and all was normal again. If you allow automatic updates, chack that out.

Windows Update bad! very bad! I review all the updates before applying them. A bit more work but more predictable in results.

I'm OK on SP2 thanks old pal.

I was merely pointing out your flawed logic.
