GT3, SB Audigy, and messed up tracks

Problem- I'm recording guitar on a previously recorded drum track and when I play it back, the guitars are at a faster tempo than I recorded them. No adjustments to tempo were made .

Problem- I'm recording and suddenly the whole thing slows and becomes choppy

Problem- I'm recording and regardless of what I set the buffers to, it drops.

Here's the meat of it all

Intel Q6600 Quad Core @2.4Ghz
2 Gb DDRAM
Windows XP Pro SP3
Creative SB Audigy Live! 24 bit

The drum tracks were made years ago on Guitar Tracks 2. Do I need to give further info on the operating environment?

Sounds like it might be a sample rate mis-match. Your SB Live! is probably set to 48000, check that GT is the same.

Shooting in the dark I'll admit, but try setting them both to 48000, let me know if that makes a difference? I've read that SB's are designed to work at 48000 because they're commonly used for video & gaming.

    Worth a try!

All my pre existing backing clips are from CWGT2, they're in 44k and when ran at 48k they turn to mush...

    Kain,

Have you optimized your PC? Did this issue appear before or after applying the SP3 patch? Have you updated drivers for the SB Audigy?

It's optimal, all updates in place, performance adjustments all pointing to blazing speed. Kinda hard to pinpoint when it happened, seemed to coincide with adding the SB card, as the onboard sound didn't support fully all the sound apps I have while SB does. Just tons of issues with bit rates and MME/AISO/HELPMEMOMMY settings...

    Kain,

I'm sure it ha something to do with the settings in the SB Audigy card. I'm not very familiar with it I'm affraid. I think RobertB mnight be able to help. YOu can also try doing a search on "Audigy" and see if it coughs up any hints on how to fix it. I recall seeing something similar about two months back in this section of the forum.
