GTP3 and GR4P users can you explain this one??

Why is it that when I try to record guitar with GTP3 I get a nice recording of my PC noise before I start playing. I'm still running through my M-Audio Fast Track even though I know about the bleeding problem. But when I use the "tape deck" in GR4P it's whisper quiet until I start playing?? Did any body else find this?
