GTP4 Upgrade question

Hi all,

If you are a current GTP3 owner (I am) and you pay for the upgrade to GTP4, do you get the software as a disc? Or is it a download only?

I have been burned before with a "download only" upgrade (damn you McAffee) and prefer to have the disc in hand.

Thanks,
Greg

    Greg,

It appears to be disk not download. There is way to much in data to download efficiently, I would think. Maybe, one of the Cakewalk staff can answer that question definitively.

I upgraded, and was sent the boxed package in the mail. A download version was not offered.

I also used the upgrade feature though the Cakewalk site and recieved a "retail" box!  One important thing to note is it is a dvd and not a cd.  Not that this would be a problem in 2009 buy you never know.

I have GTP 3 and would like to upgrade to GTP 4 Question: is it a cumulative upgrade or is it a brand new install. When they ship the DVD out to me do I have to load it on to the computer with the existing GTP3 in order for it to work? I plan on doing so, just wanting to know in the event of buying a new computer would i have to load GTP3 before I load GTP4....does that make sense?

It's a brand new install as it is with other Cakewalk products. This will leave you with a version of GTP3 and a version of GTP4. They can share and will share VST, VSTi, and DXi folders.

Thanks for the reply Doc, I placed my order yesterday. Looking forward to playing with the Virtual Instruments. Especially the drums
