I'd contact Waves support. It sounds like a bug. Some junior programmer coded up a routine that worked fine until Dec 31st, then got confused when the year rolled over.

Does GTR Solo require having some other Waves program /player/or plug in installed or can it fly on it's own in XL7

ORIGINAL: munmun Curious what you like about it. Don't have the option of micing an amp most of the time.Couldn't get a decent lead sound out of it but I thought the clean and crunch sounds were very good for a sim.

Well, I guess you could go ahead and buy it. Then they'd have to help you.

Really, that's not my experience with Waves at all. I have numerous Waves products, including GTR (first version which of course simply did not work!) Had to wait about a year to get a version that sort of worked (usual GUI problems) then - bosh - they stopped trying to sort out THEIR problems and insisted they would only help if I paid them a yearly subscription!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I've paid a lot of money for products that they will not support properly - this is sharp practice in my book. So I still have my GTR and other Packages, but very rarely use them due to Waves crap attitude to their customers. I would most certainly never buy anything else from them until they revise their appalling business practices. With impending platform changes (Waves 7?) will their products continue to work? If not you will get NO SUPPORT from Waves as it stands unless you pay all over again for what you have already paid for! If I was in the market again for something like GTR I would look at every other product first from more reputable Companies - Waves would be the last I would ever consider. Nigel

When I downloaded the trial copy.... Waves emailed me a registration number... did you not provide your email address to them? When I downloaded, it forced me to "register" and then it sent me the number to that email address. Pehaps, you can download again and this time register first with an email address?

after downloading and registering GTR solo..about 3/4 days later I got message coming up that the product was unregistered etc. when I went to register again I was told the registration number was invalid??? Luckily I'd downloaded another version prior (on my non-DAW pc) just to check it out using another email address. so I used that reg. number and it works fine. so just download another version to another email account and use that reg. number and you should be able to use it. you won't be able to download to the email acc. you've already used...I tried that and it won't let you.
