Gain control not working..

Im having an issue were when i turn the gain knob on any channel and it has no effect at all on the audio signal...its creating an issue for me to record.
  Any thoughts?ver.23.8

    when we record the gain knob dont change the volume(only the volume knob  can be adjust)

    Incoming audio levels must be set before entering SONAR. The gain knob only affects levels of clips in the tracks. Check out the signal flow diagram in the help.

    Set levels at the source not within Sonar for recording. Sonar should be at unity.

    Are these by chance instrument channels in a Frozen state?

    Are these by chance instrument channels in a Frozen state?

    We are assuming that this thread is about recording levels. However your question is a good one if we assume wrongly.
