Gas with no remedy....the elusive thingy......
I have been looking at getting this thingy. I can't tell you what it is. I made a personal decision not to pay the inflated retail price on it so I have been looking at second hand thingys and almost brand new thingys. In the land of thingys there is always someone eventually willing to part with theirs because they thought it was the most wonderful thingy and the love wore off soon after they had it.Maybe they seen another thingy they liked more and needed the money for it....anyways it is foolish to look for a new one unless it is the kind of thingy that might need warranty work, but even in this case a used thingy can be returned if purchased from the right place. In the last few weeks I stumbled across several thingys at way less that the retail price some of them still in the plastic and basically new. In every case someone else beat me out of the thingy at auction. Just last night I seen this thingy for less than I have ever seen it priced and thought that maybe I should consult my better half to confirm the funds for this. After this was done I returned to buy the thingy and while I was gone someone else bought it. In another case a well known music vendor showed a used one on their site for a wonderful price. I tried to buy it but the link was dead. When I called the vendor they informed me the item is no longer available. One of these days the timing will work out. I know there's one out there with my name on it.Hopefully after I find one the love won't wear off for years.

It's ok Starise ... it's nothing to be embarrassed by. You can get a prescription for those pumps now and your health insurance should cover the cost. No need to get them off the internet anymore ... especially a used one. I hope we're talking about the same thing. I think we are.

OK Bub....This isn't that kind if thingy. I would never touch anyone elses thingy, at least not the one I'm talking about and not Joneseys either. Mike, I got the same deal you did on that deal and it wasn't in my favor. They sold it to me and then they unsold it to me. I set my sights on a better thingy that does more things.

I have a looper (Digitech) but mine's small and doesn't have near as many buttons! (so we can safely say that Tim's thingy is bigger than mine!)

Hey Beag. I snagged this for 444.00 with shipping. Retail is 549.00. I seen one for 400 but it was a private seller with no warranty. The lowest I seen one was 375 used. I went through fatwallet.com and got an additional discount. I think I paid a fair used price for it if it works ok. I don't usually get into measuring my thingies Beag lol. Don't let the three tracks fool you. You can record additional parts onto each track and it has built in midi and backing tracks/export to wav.It is essentially a realtime hardware recorder. I play live sometimes as a one man band and as a practice and composition tool it will work well getting ideas for parts together on the fly.Probably much faster than any other method, at least in my case it will be far more intuitive than anything computer related even Ableton. I can sync my HD 500 to it and use the 48 second looper in it or any other midi clock including software. I can probably get it to sync with Sonar.

yes, so do I, that's why I bought the one I did. stereo output is nice, but unecessary for me since it's going into a mixer to send to the house mains in mono. however, I supposed I could put "backing tracks" or loops on one channel, keyboard on another to send out and let the board handle it that way, but that really would just be over complicating it. however, what I like about yours are the footswitches. I have considered adding a behringer FCB-1010 to my setup for being able to quickly switch things. re: Abelton - yeah, for my purpose (and sounds like yours) that's not even a real consideration. and no, it's not cheaper anyway since I'd have to buy a laptop to run Abelton on. I can sync my HD 500 to it and use the 48 second looper in it or any other midi clock including software. I can probably get it to sync with Sonar.
yes, you should be able to sync it with sonar. good luck with it - it looks coolio!

Thanks Beags. I liked the results I was getting with my 48 second looper and that's what led up to this. I don't think of it as much of a "looper" as I do an Idea recorder arranger.

me either. I don't use it as a "looper" myself - I use it as a backing track. I'll put the entire song on it without vocals or keyboards and I'll use that as accompaniment to my vocals and keyboards. the one I have allows me to choose "loop" or "single" run (as yours probably does as well) and I always set it to single so that it doesn't repeat at the end of the song.
