"Balthazar" was the first thing that came to mind while listening. I have no idea why...

I like it Wook. Beautiful BIG ambient sound that turns into almost waltz. And the transition around 4:18 caught me off guard. I like that!

The mix sounds good to me. I don't address that so much because I suck at it myself.

Hi John I like it, sort of big 80's epic soundtrack sound.  What string sounds are you using?  I ask because they let the piece down slightly.  As you know I'm a bit of an orchestral buff these days and I believe we can get really good orchestral sounds but convincing the conservatoriums and various other parties this is hard, so every time average strings sounds are used they win the argument.  Sorry a bugbear of mine and a small quibble because the track is excellent.  Good stuff.

wouldn't sound amiss in Bladerunner - very cool.
I like the strings - I don't think you were going for ultra realistic right? They have that phasey synthy thing going on.

Thanks Ben just Dim Pro standard strings Pizzicato and Legato as supplied with SONAR 8 8.5 X1, X2 and X3 Producer.  I do not own any string/orchestral libraries as I rarely use them or if I do I process them beyond recognition.  I agree they could be better but I choose nice new Adam A7x's instead

Thanks for the listen and I do appreciate your comment.

Many thanks Daryl, I understand Ben's point of view but I am happy how they sit within the piece, appreciate you popping by listening and making comment, yes I was not going for overly real just wanted that sense of gravitas that full strings bring.

Really enjoy your style. It is the unconventional architecture. One can't guess what is next; no pattern.

Well done.

Excellent arrangement and mix.  I missed a touch more melodic movement.  I think you have it in the strings but it felt like most of the arrangement was foundational where it could use more embellishment of the melody.  Just a thought.  You have a very good touch on instrument blending.  I like the depth a lot.

Thanks Lance, probably because I have absolutely no idea what I am doing thanks for the listen and comment.  Though there is that atonal bit at about 4:18 does that not count as melody?

This is very good. Very soothing, except for the bit that started at 4:18. It sounded like New Age style or ambient style and a bit like classical music.

Thanks for having a listen Antti and taking the time to put down some words, that bit at 4:18 is actually the strings playing the same thing as the Moog Modular is playing all the way through, it is an atonal ARP pattern which drifts in and out of the mix.

Always enjoy your work Wookiee. I particularly like the bass end in your pieces they are always strong and full. This piece had me in the mind of a documentary about planet exploration, i.e. soaring over the landscapes in a clear bottom spaceship.

Wookie, this is a lovely piece of music.  I love the arrangement and textures.  I, for one, love that change at the 4:18 mark.  It makes perfect sense to me.  Congrats all the way around.

All the best,

Very nice indeed my furry friend.  This number really builds into a very big encompassing cinematic sound.  I also like the change at 4:18 --- it gives a pleasant variance to the song.

A most excellent work Wookie. I know of at least two things you're good at now. The first is masterfully eating the limbs off of unsuspecting victims and this is the second one which I prefer since no humans or animals were injured in the process and... well...it's just more enjoyable for the listener :)

Thanks Starise I tend not to eat my victims, well at least not without cooking them first, more just the fun of seeing the expressions on their faces as their limbs part from their torso .  I do appreciate your ears and time thanks again Tim.
