(Gave Up)Can't Install Bandlab Latest Version
I tried uninstalling Bandlab Assistant and then installing the latest version (3.1 something), as has been recommended. But then when I run the "new" Bandlab, it still says it's 3.0 something. What is really weird is, I went to Programs to uninstall it again, and it was listed correctly as 3.1. But when I actually open it and check its version, it's 3.0. I remember somebody saying that you may need to uninstall a couple of other things manually when uninstalling BA, but I've searched everywhere and can't find that post. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

About deleting Bandlab Assistant folders? (If not, sorry.)
The folders are located at C:/users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming
"Bandlab Assistant" and "bandlab-assistant".

I found the files and deleted them, then reinstalled BA. Same thing happened. My computer says I have 3.1, but the actual Bandlab Assistant identifies itself as 3.0. In any case, I get the same result when I try to update: a grayed-out pulsing "downloading" thingy, but no actual downloading. I'm not going to risk losing everything by uninstalling CbB. I will wait until they get this sorted out. I see lots of other folks are having problems too. I'm sure they're working on it.

I didn't even do an uninstall first -- just launched BA as Administrator, clicked the gear icon, check for updates, then followed the steps for the install.
Maybe try it again, and let it overwrite the previous version (like I did)?

I've tried overwriting, uninstalling then installing, compatibility mode with 8, run as admin...all the usual tricks. No luck on my laptop, but no problems on my desktop. Go figure! It's probably some simple Windows thing and they'll have it sorted out shortly.

Had the same strange thing this morning: BandLab Assistant notified me of new version. Clicked on "Update" (or so, can't remember now exactly). After installing of the updated assistant, I clicked on the link I had placed on my desktop for it. "The link does not seem to exsist".
I deleted the link, downloaded manually the new file and installed that one without issues. Thought I.
Next came up: Cakewalk, new version available. Downloadind installation file. Installing. Launched it after reboot.
After a few edited notes (in piano roll view), Cakewalk crashed. Thought that cold be related to the Aria Player I am using in the edited track as playback. But Aria Player is actual, and so is the engine.
Tried to roll back to status before update. System reset failed, nothing changed.
Currently using my Sonar professional, which I had not deinstalled because of the many thirdparty-plugins.
error reports had been created which I had sent - but I did not have any confirmation that the reports have been received. In case I need to: Where do I find those crash reports on my PC? Can I send them again, and to whom?

To me it doesn't sounds like you are running the latest BA (3.1.0). Latest version has a progress bar and numerical indication in % of how things are going. Previous version of BA didn't have this, just the pulsing download you are describing.

That is rather odd. You could try verifying that the 3.1.0 BandLab Assistant (BA) version is really on your system. Assuming you're using the screen icon to launch the BA, right click on the BA icon and select "Open file location". It should take you to the location of the BA executable. On my system, the BA is here: "C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\BandLab Assistant.exe". Right click on the "BandLab Assistant.exe", select properties and go to the "Details" tab, the file version should be 3.1.0.0. Let us know what you find. If that looks wrong, not sure what to recommend, but could be a clue toward fixing the problem. BTW, I'm doing this on Win7 Pro too.

+1 and also check the version of BandLab Assistant installer (bandlab-assistant-windows-latest.exe) that you used at "Details" in properties. If the file version is not 3.1.0.0, Download latest version from here.

Why don’t you go to theit website and download the latest version from there. Then install. This is what works every time for me.

Nope, no good. Tried all the tips, BA just has a mind to install 3.0 on my system.
I'm going to stop trying for now I'm happy with what I have. At some point it will work. Till then, no Bandlab Assistant on this computer.

I've thought this too after seeing various people saying they have had all these problems. Ever since BL Cake came out every installation and update has just sailed through without a hitch for me. I wonder if it's user error. Either way, developers should make these things foolproof as the average user isn't going to be tech savvy and shouldn't be expected to be competent with troubleshooting - there is no minimal qualification for owning a computer. Better error handling makes for better software; if (install_complete) { print "Successfully installed. Have fun!";} else { // Install failed so let's give them a not responding error while (install_complete == FALSE){ install_complete = FALSE; }}
Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

Anderton is having problems with it. Not many here are more tech savvy than him. So... it could just be user error or more likely there is an as yet undiscovered combination of factors causing the problem.
I wish I could help but I have had no problem with any of the CbB installs.

It would appear there is a known technical issue which Bandlab are apparently working one. As some have chosen to to lower this to questioning technical skills with no such evidence I see no point in continuing this thread.
