What a moving build-up - a rousing version of the anthem, an appearance of the heroes of the plane that ditched, a fly past and a General tossing the coin - brilliant!!

It must be absolutely marvellous to live in a country where you're actually allowed to celebrate your own patriotism, instead of feeling like a third-world backwater where you're made to feel embarrassed if you display your country's flag.

Yes I endorse Strummies endorsement of your enthusiastic patriotism, pity we seem to be in the grip of the PC brigade over here and it's death by a thousand cuts. One of the reasons USA remains one of my favourtie countries, is the cheerfulness, optimism and work ethic of people I seem to meet in every state in your union. The superbowl does to me seem like the personification of that and why not....

Garry, can you just imagine the bloody outcry if we did something like that for the FA Cup?

Sad really...

Someone mentioned making it (and more notably, the Monday after) a national holdiay. True indeed; I took today off. I do so every year. (I think I woke up still buzzing from yesterday....)

Surely you mean we'll - I can see the four of us representing GB in the four-man Bob.

I don't think Bob's too happy about it though.
