?Generic control surface vs ACT MIDI contoller plug ins?

HI all,

I just picked up a novation Launchkey 25, mostly to attract the 12 yr old into the mobile studio world...lots of flashy pads! (har har) anyhoo...

I have been having a bit of trouble getting the strip parameters and ACT settings to stay active. I have been using different ACT presets as a starting point. I just realized that there is a Generic Controller Plug-in in addition to the ACT MIDI Plugin...

I am not at home right now, but I am curious as to the differences and peoples general experience with controllers and both their short comings and any tips n general.

Depends on what you want to do really. There's no reason you can't use both on the same surface. I run the MIDI section knobs, faders, and buttons of my ZED-R16 with ACT and use the Generic Surface to run the transport controls and channel faders.

Works great for me like that.
