Georgia Line

Probably a tune you wouldn't expect to hear me do. It was fun either way.

Thanks for those who check it out.

Georgia Line song link, it's on the list.

Sorry there is no vox yet, I have words and I might just add vox myself, or at least try.

Thanks for taking the time, I posted this in another thread, then I removed this tune then re-mixed it, reposted it, removed it, remixed it and I am done with it for now without adding vocals. I just wasn't happy with a few things.

Thanks again in advance for taking the time to listen,

 Serious Noize!

Something I should mention is the bass on this was a pain, I know it's simple for a bass player, problem is I'm not a bass player, nor am I a drummer, singer.

I have words for this, but this didn't turn out the way I hear it, I don't think it's possible to play this the way I hear it. I do know it's impossible for me to explain how I hear the guitar lines so I guess it is what it is.

Should I add vox to this one or consider leaving it as is?

Sorry for the multiple me replies, the problem with adding vocals on this tune for me is the fact that the way the main chorus will go requires someone to sing backup vox, a really high voice which I don't have. Just thought I'd mention that.

Sounds great to me.  The crashes and splashes kinda rule this tune... I don't know if that's what you intended... gives it a kinda humorous, light, vibe.

    The guitars sound great...

Thanks for taking the time to listen and reply. I have a hard time figuring out volume levels on drums, I don't know if it's the tuning or what it is.

This was fun, it didn't turn out like my original idea when I wrote this many years ago. I am happy with it at this point after editing it, but I am not done with it.

I have been told over and over and over that if I'm not going to add vox that I should at least add some kind of lead. I finally done that. Hopefully I done ok on this. I'm not a pro. I just play and I'm not in this for money or fame, I just like playing my music.

    Thanks again,

I'm done with this one for a while. Thanks to all who have listened. I posted this in another thread, and made several changes with it since then. Most are probably not even going to be noticed because they are slight changes.

It ain't perfect, I just did what I could.

I recorded this using MC5, Toneport KB37, Session Drummer 2, using a Martin SSL-10 Electric Guitar, and a New York Pro Bass. Just thought I would mention that for those who might wanna know.

Thanks for taking the time to listen.

    Hey Bobby,

This is a fun sound.  Guitar playing and tones are great.
Drums and bass, although not as good, don't cover up the joy of your playing.
I don't think it needs vocals.   It already sings.

Thanks Terry,  I sent you a message about this and you should get it shortly.

Yeah this didn't turn out like I hear it, I'm not sure if it's a tuning thing or what. I am happy with it either way for now, LOL, long enough to take a break and hopefully come back with some newer idea's in the near future I should say, and probably vox added.

    Thanks again,

Thanks, this was fun to play, I hope to come back to it very soon and add some vox and some newer idea's.  I felt it was time to take a break away from this because everything has reached the point where it all sounds the same no matter what I do, I've always heard that's when you need to step away from it for a couple of weeks and then listen to it again. That's what I'm trying to do with this one. I mixed it the first time and I thought I had it just right, then an hour later I realized with that first version the bass was WAY too loud, then after a few more mixes I noticed I was getting in the habit of lowering the volume on everything instead of getting everything mixed better so I ended up with what you are hearing now.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and reply I appreciate it from you and everyone who has replied here.

    Thanks,
                Bobby

Nice job on this... it is a bit different for you, but I like it.

Country bass is easy...... all you do is play the back and forth pattern based on 1-4-5 and you got it. When you get fancy, you put in a few walks between the notes.

Some of the hottest guitar players in the biz are the country pickers..... Albert Lee, Ricky Skaggs, Vince Gill, are a few that come to mind.

Skaggs & Lee (starts at :40)    well worth watching these country masters play on the same stage.

Thanks, I took several of them down, I think I'm going to re do that one, it was chopped full of mistakes to the point I think I can do it better now, same with a few others. It's amazing going back and listening to some of the things I've done over the last 2 years or so and how I didn't notice things wrong with certain stuff.  Anticipation was something I done with loops, I was learning how to use loops when I done that.

    Thanks

dke - Thanks, this was fun to work on. Originally I done this on acoustic just strumming chords, since I don't have an acoustic anymore I had to use my electric so I changed it to what you are hearing here. I just can't get a decent clear sound with this electric I got, It seems to work pretty good when I add distortion, but for clean sounding songs it just doesn't balance out the individual tones right no matter how I have tried using it. Thanks again.

Guitarhacker - Thanks for listening and replying, and thanks for the info. Herb. I used to listen to country a lot a long time ago, the problem is I just listened and didn't pay that much attention. All 3 guitarist you mentioned are great!!! Thanks I'll try that on the bass, this is where I don't have a clue on bass, I mostly follow the main note. Thanks again

Scottytunes - Thanks Scotty, if I ever get vox added to this I hope to have someone singing background on the chorus. I guess I'm talking about a bluegrass type of chorus, not sure if that's a good description of the idea but that's what I'm thinking. Yeah that would be cool having instruments going back in forth. Thanks again

Thanks Man, I just PM'd someone I think who would be above and beyond great on this tune for vox. "Sorry I gotta leave ya guessing like that, for me to do otherwise before knowing if they were going to add to it would just be plain wrong".  We shall see. Let me just say this dude is perfect.

This is going to be cool if it happens, if not it's been fun either way.

Thanks Steve, I just hope nobody listening has a sore toe!

I think vox might be in the future for this one real soon, and some other things. We shall see.

I really want to learn more about country lead guitar, not so much for country music, it's mostly because I love playing those major pentatonic type of riffs, there just plain fun to play. You've helped me out a lot dude and I can't thank you enough for doing so. I hope my playing in the future shows that it wasn't a waste of time to do so.

Everything you and the CHB does has been above and beyond freaking AWESOME!!!! I hope there is an album soon, I will be purchasing it if so.

    Thanks again,

I thought the dual guitars toward the end were awesome. Some pretty good playing throughout, the guitars (rhythm) seemed to sync better from the middle on toward the end. All of the people who play midi only, and there are lots, have no idea how tricky it is to keep a non-midi instrument in-time throughout a song. It can be challenging. It feels eq'ed a bit high, I liked the ending :-)

Vocals would be nice, but you can stay instrumental if you put a guitar variation on the melody in the middle or add a fiddle.

    The mix sounds very clean!

Thanks Robby, it's not a type of rhythm I'm used to playing, but it was fun. I wonder if it was my lead that was better on the timing toward the end or rhythm? Not sure, I reached a point with this one where it was time to take a break and move to something else, I felt if I didn't I'd just keep repeating the same things over and over, so hopefully I will have some new idea's here in a few weeks for this one.

That being said, there is a good chance there will be a collab version sometime in the near future.

This is all new territory for me.

    Thanks again,

    The mix sounds very clean!

Thanks vechung, some of the guitar lines were me just playing the way the words kinda go. Although hopefully there will be a vox version soon, LOL, hopefully by someone who can actually sing. I'm not a singer and don't claim to be, I've probably said it a thousand times, the thing is if I add vocals to anything it's to let a singer know what I am trying to achieve and not necessarily how something is supposed to sound. Although, I don't work on singing so I shouldn't expect it to sound good either way. I'm not interested in singing at this point in time.

    Thanks again,
