Geronimo Cowboys do a Zep cover tune - well, almost.

I played all the instruments on this except the bass guitar. Mike rewrote some lyrics, sang and played bass and renamed this Honey Drip Trip.

Wild intro - I liked that.  The mix overall sounded very nice to my ears. Impressive lead guitar.

That 33 second wild intro was great!!!  In fact the guitar playing throughout was excellent.  I really like the touch of verb on the vocal.  In fact, the whole song was brilliant.  Well done lads!!!!!

Doug - thanks - I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.
Freddy - Hi. I used a midi guitar for the lead - I had never done that before. Thanks so much for the comment buddy.

Nice feel to it. That is Zeppish. The only difference is that Page would have recorded the guitar with a mic placed 20 feet back, resting on a pillow inside a guitar case, with the lid just three inches open. Otherwise, you got this!

Thanks Wayfarer. Only problem recording with mics is that they pick up the football games when I'm recording and watching them at the same time - so, I use Podfarm.  ;-D

Cool guitar tones. A couple times the vocals reminded me of Adrian Belew.

Guitars, that mellotron thing, panning placements - all work! great loose feel throughout, loose in a good way. If this were my mix I'd be tempted to turn the lead vocal up and the guitar solo as well. The vocal performance is too good to bury it with a volume that is lower than the panned guitars. Just a thought - I'm not familiar with the original so maybe that's the original mix you were modelling?

It all brings a smile to one's face, doesn't it?  Good job!

Glenn - thanks so much - I think Mike would love the compliment.

Steve, thanks - it was fun to do.

Tom, thanks. I don't do any mixing on these tunes - just write them and play guitar. The mellotron sound you mention is me playing a Godin LGX through a Roland GR-30. Thanks again.

Liked the sound of the vocalist.  You didn't try to mimic Robert Plant, which is always welcome. :D:D  One of my favorite bands of all time.  Weirdly I have never heard this song.

Nice - Zep but not Zep.   Not easy to pull off.   But well done...    Gotta agree with the vocal level comments though - IMO should be up just a notch.

eph - thanks man - appreciate you taking the time.

steve - thanks. Mike - who sang this, also mixed this. It always seems like musicians mix their tracks the loudest in a mix when collaborating. I guess Mike where his voice was in the mix.

Real cool Zep/Plant thing. Great distortion on the GTR.
If they didn't do this one, they should have.
