These both have edit screens so you can get into the details of each. Bear in mind that MTurboReverb is algorithmic and not convolution. Rather than blindly pitch them to you, if you have trials available (I am not sure if those reset with each version, but I assume they would), definitely try them out yourself. MTurboReverb is nutty in its level of detail... I have yet to type in an algorithm myself, but you can.

The price is better than the Madness deals, but definitely kick the tires first to see what you think.

Also watch your inboxes if you bought MUnison from APD as I did recently. They just sent me an email saying that this qualifies me for an extra 10 usd off this deal.

Most definitely.  Pay no attention to the madly detailed full edit screens in MTurboReverb - how many of us want to design an actual reverb algorithm in the first place?  Stick with the easy screen, which offers some extremely nice sounding algo reverbs.  I could easily make this my desert island algo reverb (but I still need my Liquidsonics convo reverb!).

MTurboComp is another matter.  Like the verb, it has a very nice selection of presets on the easy screen that make for very easy compression settings in general use.  But the obsessive compressionist will be in heaven.  Want to make your compression dependent upon the signal levels in both the internal and external sidechain?  Easy here.  Want to have your compression/ratio curve have multiple different segments for different signal levels above the threshold?  Again, same answer.

Maybe a hundred bucks is too high to call this a no-brainer, but it most definitely is a bargain like we haven't seen before.

It's worth spending a bit of time to learn the basics - the way the algo thing works even with simple algorithms+randomization/seeding can create some really impressive and unique sounding results.

@fleer - just fire up mturboreverb > click edit at the top > presets > root > default > turn off ER1 > click on LR1 > then try clicking "randomize algorithm" and clicking on "seed"/"randomize parameters". I defy you not to get truly inspiring results within a few seconds. It goes way outside reverb territory - a lot of the stuff it throws out reminds me of Unfiltered Audio SpecOps.

I've not looked too deep into that as it more closely covers the bases of what I have already with all my existing compressors. If I find something usable/unique in mturbocomp then that's a bonus! I'd have paid $99 for just mturboreverb. BTW, I had talked myself out of buying it and being happy with LE but I had done what I suggested to you, and rekindled just how much I love the full mturboreverb for playing with my own algorithms and happy-accidents from the random stuff. I just plain need to have that in my life :)

fwiw, here's the crib-sheet I made for myself for rolling my own algorithms:
- - -
prefix module with n to perform it n times eg 10c=10 comb filters
separate sections with ";"
comb filters are basically a delay with feedback

variables:
# - variable that takes its value from the complexity knob
$1, $2, $3 - user variables
c - input coefficient
freq= in hz

structure modules:
s[***] - serial (default)
p[***] - parallel
b[***] - bypass based on probability
l(n) - level eg l(-3) = reduce signal by 3db
lc(n) - level as a multiplier
st[***] - serial tap - process in serial but mix ouput eg st[#d] = simple tapped delay of # taps

main modules:
d(time) - delay
c(decay;time) - comb filter - decay = 1 by default and is coefficient of length knob
cb(decay;time) - as comb but lets through dry too
x(decay;time) - as comb but alters level to maintain a lower output
a(decay;time) - allpass comb filter - works as a diffuser

v(length;lfo freq) - lfo length=delay from 1ms default to 10ms eg p[#[c;v]]=complexity number of comb+vibrato in parallel
fl(freq diff;q diff) - low shelf filter - this module is affected by the dampening low panel
fh(freq diff;q diff) - high shelf filter - this module is affected by the dampening high panel
fa(freq;q) - all pass filter
fam(modf;modq;modlfofreq;center freq;center q) - modulated all pass filter
f(freq;type;q;gain) - filter: Peak, PeakAnalog, LowShelf, HighShelf, LowPass, HighPass, LowPass6, HighPass6, BandPass, Notch
sat(drywet;mode) - saturation - mode = 0 to 8

nested modules: - these allow other modules to be ran in the main modules feedback loop
cn(decay;time)[submodule1;sub2...] comb filter - eg cn[fh;fl] = comb filter with dampening in the feedback path
cnb - as above but with dry
xn(decay;time)[sub1;sub2...] - as cn with level compensation
cni(deacy;time)[submid1;submid2...] - as cn but submod1 is processed on the output of the module, the remaining submods
are processed in feedback loop as normal
an(dacay;time)[submod1;submod1...] - nested allpass
stfb(w1;w2...)[submod1;submod2;...] - serial tap with feedback - w=weights eg stfb[4d;v]

complex:
cc[outmod1;outmod2...feedbackmod1;feedbackmod2;...] - circular comb - needs even number of modules
num of delays = number of modules/2
ex: cc[#l;#[fl;fh]] = comb filter number of delays = complexity knob (#), level modules are dummies, this only processes fb
xc - as above but gain compensated
ca - circular allpass
fdn4/fdn4d - a 4x4 network of comb filters fdn4d is a more diffuse version - ex p[#fdn4d]
xfdn4/xfdn4d - as above but gain compensated
fdn(size)[submod1;submod2..] - general feedback loop sized by complexity if no variable given
ex: fdn[#[fl;fh]] = a fully featured FDN based reverb of size #
xfdn - as above but compensating
r/rd - reverb matrix like 4x4 fdns - rd is more diffuse
rp[submod1;submod2...] - reverb with processing in feedback
cross(slope;freq1;freq2;freq3;...)[subforband1;subforband2;...] - 6, 12, 24 (default), 48, 72, 96 or 120
cross(48)[l(-30);r;[5a]] - split 20hz-20khz into 3 bands 48 db slope - band 1=level-30 band2=reverb band3=5 allpass in series
crosslp(slope;tapcount;freq1;freq2...)[subforband1;subforband2;...] - linear phase -

multi-channel modes:
swap - swaps left and right channels
mono - make all mono
widening(depth) - range -1 to 4 : -1=mono 0=no processing 1=2x bigger width etc
LRtoMS / MStoLR - always use in pairs eg LRtoMS;{some processing};MStoLR

advanced:
tremolo(depth;freq)
autopan(depth;freq)
pitch(fftsize;pitch shift;formant shift;keep formants)
freqshift(max;shift) - cc[#b[freqshift(100)];#a]
noise
mul(drywet)[submod1;submod2...] - drywet = 0-1
spectral(fftsize;attack;hold) - experiemental spectral reverb
ConvoNoise (shape;length;hpshape;hpq;hpf;lpshape;lpq;lpf) - convonoise(0;-1;$1;0.2;-1;$2) uses user vars
Transient (attackdb;release;resolution;link)

examples:
st[5d(500)] = 5 serial taps 500ms between each
cc[v;#a;#[fl;fh];fa]
cc[v;#a;#[fl;fh;v];fa;v]
cc[v;#[a;d];#[fl;fh;d];fa;d]
fdn[#[fl;fh]] = a fully featured FDN based reverb of size #
rp[#b[v(0.5)];#b[v(0.3)]]
cc[#l;l;#[fh;fl];swap]
cc[#b[freqshift(100)];#a]
cc[#b[freqshift(100)];#[a;fl;fh]]

I actually made quite a few of the presets/algorithms in MTurboreverb. If anyone has questions I’ll try to answer. I was actually planning on making a video on how to make algorithms before, but I figured there would be little interest. Anyway its not as hard as you’d think to make algorithms. That said I usually use the presets when actually mixing.

@NotForMee - you don't need to create algorithms to take it far beyond the presets - just randomize the algorithm/parameters/seed and you'll be discovering really interesting effects in no time.

Also, the algorithms aren't 100s of lines of code - just a single line. The simplest algorithm is just "r" for reverb - but even with just that, you can randomize the parameters to get variety from it.

May take a couple of days to get to it like I want Fleer. Got a few things to do today, hang lights and such.

But looking to really dig into it. Will report back before sale ends.

And to remind everyone. This is not on sale at Melda site. You have to go to Audioplugin.com As I am new there ( I do have built up a little of their loyalty cash, but I not sure if you can use it on this deal. This is a fantastic deal considering the plugin's regular price.
