Even if they announce it at this NAMM it will probably be a few months after that until it ships. Also, they usually do Sonar at this time of year. Either way I'll have something to look forward to.

Still no undeniable proof that there will be a P5V3 presentation at Summer Namm!!!!

ORIGINAL: kb420 Still no undeniable proof that there will be a P5V3 presentation at Summer Namm!!!! No, but someone from Cakewalk did indicate that there would be some news on P5 coming in the near future and it would seem that this would be the most likely time to announce it... As for 2.5, I would rather see them do a full version jump and implement the vast majority of features that have been requested (where there was a general consensus)...a 2.5 release with a few of the requests implemented would likely mean another 6 or more months of waiting for the other stuff to happen, which wouldn't be fun, especially as the month wait till Summer NAMM is already longer than I want to wait

Did you account for traffic from crazy P5 fans wanting to hear about version 3? I think I'm a little closer then wrench....... but not much. I think Bonnaroo would be better. Too bad it's going on as we speak.

I don't see any indication about anything company-specific from that link. I thought NAMM was 1 week later. That's 1 less week to speculate. Personally my money's on Yamaha and the (finally) replacement for the Motif ES keyboard. But a new P5 would be unbelievable, since I'm like this close to purchasing. Need kick-ass drums built in. That's the deal breaker. I know we've been through this, and I know that you guys love to "roll your own". But I need some super-phat s...t right out of the box, and from what I've heard, read, and experienced, P5 don't deliver that yet.

That page had a link to a PDF brochure on it which included a list of displaying vendors. Of course Cakewalk was on that list.

Aside from the superior workflow and Dimension, what more would you want from P5? How about I send you a free CD-R filled with a TON of amazing "kick-ass, mastered quality, kick-ass, radio-ready" drum samples to use in Velocity...I'll even set them up as Velocity kits and save them that way...buy Project5 and I'll put it in the mail.

On one of these many P5 threads someone from Cake suggested that P5 was on an 18 + month schedule instead of the 12 month like Sonar. which puts it towards the end of the year or so, not the summer. Of course, they could have been blowing smoke for those bong sounds we were discussing a while back, too. But again, look at the Kinetic update to get a taste of what may be in store. what I'd really like is a way to use the P5 "look and feel ease factor (didn't I have a date like that once?)" but with SONAR's audio handling. And not have to rewire the two together.

Of course, they could have been blowing smoke for those bong sounds we were discussing a while back, too. As already mentioned, someone from Cakewalk (can't remember who) posted that there were exciting developments in the offing for P5 in the next few months...this was posted a couple of months ago(?) and it would coincide with Summer NAMM for the fulfillment of this notice. But again, look at the Kinetic update to get a taste of what may be in store. To be honest, I hope it isn't...I was totally underwhelmed with the K2 product details. The only mildly interesting thing was it's mixer, but I would hope that any mixer addition to P5 would be closer to Sonar's than Kinetic's. what I'd really like is a way to use the P5 "look and feel ease factor (didn't I have a date like that once?)" but with SONAR's audio handling. And not have to rewire the two together. Amen to that...rewire is the spawn of Satan

Rob, I got the feeling P5 v3 it would be after the summer. Hope not! And I wouldn't think that Kinetic 2 would have everything v3 would (hope so!). It does have a requested mixer, and didn't it have some kind of drum machine or something. Yea, I was underwhelmed, but then look at the price. later, @

I think Sonar 6 and Project 5 v3 will be released this September by Cakewalk. I look forward to the updates to Project 5 but I don't think there is going to be much added to Sonar 6. Save your pennies for the September update folks, Project 5 v3 will be here before you know it, and you'll be tracking and mixing with some nice new tools. (I hope) Peace
