Getting Insert Rewire to show all Rewire Instruments (64 bit vs 32)

Hello,

Perhaps the reason this is not working is that I am running Sonar Platinum 64 bit and the rewire applications are older 32 bit. I was trying to get Reason 5 to be a sound module (to use Thor and some of the other instruments) but Reason, nor Project 5 show up as rewire instruments. I certainly would prefer to not have dual installations of Sonar 32 and 64 so I thought it was worth checking to see if I missed a step or if there was a way around this. Since Sonar Platinum can bind 32 bit VSTs I thought perhaps there was a chance that 64-32 bit Rewire was supported. Perhaps just wishful thinking....no hurt to ask though.

Thanks in advance!

AFAIK ReWire has to be bit-depth consistent...everything has to be either 64-bit or 32-bi, and you also need the appropriate ReWire dll.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

Thanks Craig for your reply. I don't use Reason enough to warrant upgrading but some of the instruments are good. Oh well.

This might work http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2833169. The post is a few years old and I have no way to test the software.

I managed to get a 32 bit version of Reason 7 working in 64 bit Sonar.
Try this Youtube, worked for me.

Thank you both. Simply fantastic. Now i sees Reason 5 perfectly! I am not sure how you found this easily in the Forums as I searched for Rewire without luck. I guess I need to improve my searching :)
