Getting Sonar to Delete older files upon new Saves

Hello, is this possible? I am saving projects as project files, and Sonar saves their version of .wav files in the audio folder.
However, when I delete a track, or a substantial part of a track...and then Clear the History....why does Sonar
still hold on to the old track that I never want to see again?

Shouldnt Sonar edit its version of the .wav to be smaller
or delete the track entirely when I delete it entirely?

Trying to save some unnecessary hard drive space here, and there is no reason for Sonar to hold on to those
unneeded files.

I checked all of the Global settings and there does not appear to be an option for permanent delete...
am I missing something somewhere? Is there a way to accomplish this?

thanks in advance for your advice.

:)

Got a quick question, which is partially on topic. What does Clean Audio Folder do? Does it remove unused audio or all audio in the saved project folders???

Or does this not delete any files other than temporary one's in the audio data folder?

It deletes any audio files that are not being used in Sonar projects. It's probably the only safe way to delete audio files. For some reason it will usually bring up 3 or 4 files which have nothing to do with Sonar, in a front window - close that window and you should see the unused files listed in the window behind.

I've read and been told to use the dedicated CWAF tool instead. It's free from Cake and for some reason is supposed to have fewer "false positives" as deleting files go.

Unfortunately, it still does have SOME false positives, which for me is pretty much a giant nail through the forehead. I hate trying to delete files for projects using SONAR's tools of any kind. They're just a little inadequate in the worst possible way.

that said, I have high hopes that v7 is going to address these issues. Fingers crossed.

Use Consolidate Project Audio instead... then delete all files in the audio folder and replace it with the consolidated audio... works like a champ, but any old files might be referencing other tracks that were deleted... so make sure you only do that when you don't want to go back.
