Getting back Rapture download

Hi, I purchased  the download verion of Rapture about a year ago. I have a new computer and I need to reinstall it. How do I receive the download file again. I certainly dont think I would have to pay for it again.  I looked in my account and  the order history only goes to 60 days.   Thankyou

If you downloaded it and unzipped it on your old computer, it is probably still there.  Search for a file called Rapture110Setup.exe or similar.

Yeah, the new system bothers me.  Why they just do not just have the links to the download in your registration history is beyond me - it should just allow you to click on a registered product and download the installer you need.  This 60 day limit was an unnecessary change.

there is reasons for it.. think about it for a sec..

it's like me getting the key to your front door and emptying your place.. so thats the reason why..  (not that I would)

rule of thumb though. ALWAYS backup downloaded instruments etc as soon as you buy them or have a "2 write" folder.. and burn a disk when thats full (which is what I do)

as in one case , another company I used to use.. they vanished (not saying cake will) but anything could happen.. and safeguarding what you bought for what.. 25cents is a no brainer.

1st rule of digital - if it isn't in two places it doesn't exist.  I back up all my zip files on two drives on two computers plus DVD.  Your registration plus the download along with your serial number allows Cakewalk to keep track of your purchase.  If it is "stolen" and suddenly 50 requests are made for "registering your software on separate computers they can put a stop to such theft.

And yea, I have software that I still install that is as dead as their companies.  It is best to spend a few bucks on DVDs - and use two for backing up every song/program.  I lost the mix tracks for two songs because I was in a hurry installing new OS's and only burned one copy of the songs.  That was the one DVD that didn't read properly.

As to what you can do today - contact Cakewalk tech support and explain that you need the file.  I'm sure they'll make it available to you.  They just need to keep track of such things to protect themselves.
