Getting rid of Sampletank help
I give up. I downloaded sampletank 2.5.5, installed it,I can't get sampletank to work. So now I've deleted it. How do I get it removed from Sonar's insert soft synth list? To be clear...I click on insert, go to soft synth and Sampletank is an option.

I'm on Mac, but, Sonar still has a plug-in manager, right? That's what I'd try.

I've done that. It's not listed in the plugin manager. I've deleted every file I can find and I have re scanned all folders. It's still there. As an option.

you might wanna look in ya "program files (x86)" folder and the cakewalk vst one. OR some installers default to steinberg folder.. don't think theres does.. it looks for a registry value "vstplugins" IRC

If you look in the Plugin Manager and find the entry for the synth, the full path is listed in the Filename entry box at the bottom of the Plugin Manager UI.

I've done everything suggested so far (Actually before I started this thread),and It would seem it's here to stay for awhile. It's not a big deal, I only see it when I want to insert a soft synth. You would think if you delete the file and re scan folders it would go away though.

As a temporary workaround, just highlight it in the Plugin manager and hit the "Exclude Plugin" button

It's not in the plugin manager. I've looked through them all and it's gone, but it's still an option in the list of soft synths when I click on insert and then click soft synth. I thought I was doing something stupid, but I can't seem to find my mistake. I might just try to re-install it and get it working.

Is the "Re-scan for Existing Plug-ins" checked? If it is did you try a Reset and Rescan of the VST plugins? The Reset can be performed from Preferences > File > VST Settings screen.

Nope. I have an IK souvineer in my synth list (it's only in the drop down insert synth list). It won't work and it won't go away. Thanks anyway.

There must still be a registry entry for it, or it could not appear in the dropdown. If all references to it are removed from the registry, there is no way SONAR could be away of it.
