Getting rid of a Solo bleed from a reverb?

I have two acoustic gtr tracks going into a Gtr Blend Buss that has a send to a plate reverb buss.  The lead vocal track has a send to the same reverb buss.  When I solo the Gtr tracks, I hear the reverb signal from the lead vocal.  I don't think that is supposed to happen OR how do I get rid of the bleed?

Thanks,

Larry Williams

Quick answer - mute the vocal track.

Longer answer - I'd like to run a similar check on my DAW but it's late here so in nobody else chimes in, I'll set it up tomorrow night and have a play.

muting vocal track did nothing.  Changing send from post to pre did nothing much, still bleeding.

Why not give the vocal and guitars their own bus and reverb?

I want to pretend I understand the circuitry and be the one in control instead of my artificially intelligent DAW.

Check your routeing. When I have a similar set up I don't notice any bleed. When I get an issue like this it's normally some dumb routeing mistake I've made or I left something in when it should be out etc.

Yea, but I can't seem to find it.  I will do a work around.  Thanks all!

You could go to the source and mute the vocal clips - select them all and press "K"

Ok, that actually makes sense. Muting the track does not disable the send.

So.............switch the send off on the Vocal Track

It's not clear whether you are soloing the gtr tracks or the guitar bus. If you are soloing the both the gtr bus and the rvb bus, then that would explain the bleed. If so, try soloing the gtr tracks instead without soloing any buses. If not, just disregard my suggestion.

Would this variable in the Aud.ini file have any bearing?

LinkPFSendMute=<0 or 1>
Boolean
45
If this is set TRUE, pre fader sends on both tracks and buses are automatically muted when the track/bus is muted. Also if another track is soloed the pre fader sends on other tracks will be muted.
This basically conforms to pre SONAR 4 behavior.

This is your answer.  Research the manual and study routing signal flow a little.
This is a good way to learn more and more, by tackling the little hurdles bit by bit, one at a time,as you come upon them.

There are several ways to accomplish what you're after. I agree with KingsMix, you should brush up on signal flow and you'll understand why signals are arriving at a given point.
