Getting this XLN error when I open X1 or Platinum

"sorry a serious error occurred, try running xln online installer again. Error info. ctluaGUI Window  GUIBoot. lua init caught exception. Lua doString exception Error found when calling Lua Throw;.etc etc..

It occurs when Sonar tries to load XLN Addictive Keys. I reinstalled latest installer and Addictive Keys, still get the message. I emailed XLN this morning, still waiting... Any ideas?

Check your XLN Online Installer to see if there are any updates.

Thanks Bob.  I did that. Even reinstalled it from the site.  2 days and still no response from XLN.

I'm also getting this error for both AD2 and AK, and it's only with Sonar (both X3 Producer and Platinum); other hosts work fine (e.g., T7).   Did you ever get a response from Cakewalk or XLN?

    Thanks in advance,
    G

I get that error too. XLN responded fairly quick, but just told me to run the updated installer. I had already run the installer again and completely removed and reinstalled AD2 again and still get the error.

Ok, this turned out to be a view state problem.  There were AD2 and AK .dll files at all three folder locations below (all of which were defined in the Sonar VST plugin paths), but only one set showed in the Sonar browser (the ones at the \Steinberg\vstplugins path) - which turned out to be old and problematic DLL versions.  This is why deleting and reloading AD2 and AK via the Online Installer didn't fix it...because the Steinberg path was not defined there.  I'm not sure when or how that folder was actually created, but deleting those dll's and rescanning in Sonar did the trick.

    c:\Program Files (x86)\vstplugins
    c:\Program Files\vstplugins
c:\Program Files\Steinberg\vstplugins      <<<< this is where the old x64 versions were.

    Hope this helps,
    G
