Im not a gibson guy. I play Ibanez. But even Ibanez needs a strong Gibson.

jamesg1213 I do have another Gibson, which I feel slightly guilty about not mentioning
1981 Sonex-180 Deluxe. As you can see, I heavily modded it by sticking a pick holder on It was my first 'proper' guitar after a few copies from the likes of Columbus and Hondo. It's got a good crunch!
I remember when those came out . They were pretty scarce in my area . Too this day I haven't played one . Either way it looks like a nice guitar . It sure beats what I had back in the day ... Wibbles It's time to move on Granddad and get with Drake. I shudder to think of the consequences of what may come from listening to that type of noize Is That the reason why your signature states your wibble has a wobble ? Kenny

Wayfarer for what it's worth, the best 335 type guitar I've ever owned was a Yamaha SA-2000.
Here's Tommy Tedesco's Yamaha SA-2000 up for auction . https://entertainment.ha....hortDescription-071515 Here's all his guitars that are currently up for auction https://entertainment.ha....onsignorpreview-notice
Neat. Didn't see anything there I really need though. I wouldn't mind a banjo, but all of his are 4-string tenor models. Bill
I hear you . Anything I think I may need or want may just turn out to be repeats of guitars I used to have ... I can say I sure miss having a Dobro .... Banjo ? forgetaboutit ....no KEN DO .... I have to be in the right mood to listen to Banjo When I'm not the sound of Banjo scares my but hole much more than the idea of Bubba the fictional cell mate from behind bars demanding me to put on the miss piggy Halloween costume so we can splash around in the showers while pretending to be at a tropical waterfall doing Pig Squeals & Karaoke Duets Kenny

Ken, I had all of Mason Proffit's albums back in the day. Earl Scruggs once said that their banjo player (John Micheal Talbot who later become a Franciscan Monk who wrote a lot of famous liturgical music) was the best he ever heard. It was the last minute or so of this song in particular that made me realize a banjo has a greater purpose than just being used for Bluegrass: https://youtu.be/TMgj9b9YYm0?t=158

I had what was basically the six string guitar version of that called the SG-200. The basses might have been okay, but the guitar was horrible. Undoubtedly the worst guitar to ever have the Gibson name on it up till that time. To make matters worse, mine had a warped neck.
