I have one with moon inlays for fret markers, but I aint selling it. Check with Rockin Robin.
Some people call me Maurice SPLAT Pro lifetime, ADK 6 core 3.6Ghz with 32 GB RAM, SSD 1TB system drive, 3 3TB regular drives for samples, recordings and misc. Behringer X Touch, UAD Apollo Quad. 2 UAD2 Quads PCI (i think - inside the box whatever that is), Console 1. More guitars (40??) and synths (hard and soft) than talent. Zendrum!!!

No but you have nice taste. FWIW, The budget nineties SG specials have nice paint jobs compared to present day. Some SGs have the "'59 round back" neck and some have a "slim 60's style". Check them out. I have a purchased used '92 special with the '59 neck and like it a bunch. It had a horrible fret dress from the factory but I have all the tools and did a nice job. It ended up actually taking a fret dress better than many guitars I have. I also have a 67 Melody Maker SG. They are the most comfortable guitar to play that I can think of. Recent used Standards seem fairly priced on ebay. Check out the used page at Wildwood guitars. They have good deals on fantastic guitars. best, mike

Gibson wouldn't make the changes Les wanted so he told them to take his name off...he later said that probably wasn't the best thing he ever said.

I know Herb (Guitarhacker) has IIRC a late '60s model that sounds sublime. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7154799 I would imagine it would take more than surgery to get it off him though. It's one of the best sounding guitars I've heard in song forumland.

I have found the SG to be a very playable guitar. With it's thin neck..... I like the lighter weight too.... perfect for the guitarist who makes a living in a nightclub playing those long sets..... Nice sounding too... as to where you can find one under retail...... check Ebay, craigs list, and on occasion you will find a sale at GC & SA. Newspaper classified ads...... pawn shops..... local out of work/need money quick musicians.....
