GigaStudio 3 Ensemble, any users here?
I have notice a sweetwater add for GigaStudio 3 Ensemble for 149.97 w/ Free shipping. ~>> Sweetwater GigaStudio 3 Ensemble Since I have heard a lot of individuals talk about having GigaStudio 3 to use as a softsynth and for use when using MidiOverLan, I am considering trying it since the price has been lowered. Any feed back from the Sonar Family concerning performance? Thanks, Peace

I use GS3 Ensemble. I have it installed on my secondary DAW and run it like a hardware MIDI device. Works and sounds great. Be sure to get the latest updates from Tascam. HTH.

Phrauge, I am thinking aboyt using it on a second PC as softsynth. I want to use it with Sonar 5 and connect the two using Music Lab's MidiOverLan. I have had much success using MidiOverLan with BFD and Music Lab Real Guitar. Since the price is down to less than $150.00, I think it would be great to have this as a dedicated synth. Peace

$150 for GS3E is a steal. IIRC, I paid about the same and I was upgrading from GS2.5 96.

I just ordered GS3 Ensemble from Sweetwater as well...I should be getting it in a few days. I agree it sounds like a bargin, but the research I have done shows it is a very robust sampler and the sounds are amazing. I agree with the other post from Phrauge, get the updates from the Tascam website. Here is the link: http://www.tascamgiga.com/support/updates.html Scott

Im thinking of this too (zzounds also has it for $149). How is Tascam as a company in terms of support, bugs, upgrades, copy protection etc? Do I have to (practically) have a second computer to get the most out of it? Is there a list of all the voices? I see the "Libraries" at the Tascam site but is there an actual list? Are they all "real" instrument sounds or are there other (ambient, trance etc) that come included? I know there are 1000000 third party sounds available...

I believe Giga uses C/R. I also think they're pushing Ensemble out in part because of the soon-coming GVI (Giga Virtual Instrument, a genuine Giga-provided VSTI). Doug
