Give me color, color and even more color options!

I really do like Sonar!  I've been with it since Pro Audio 3.  I guess most DAW's kinda leapfrog each other with features, etc...  I'm VERY content with Sonar 8.5.3 and hope that I'll also be content with X1b,....... BUT

I'm downright jealous of some of these color schemes I see on other DAW sites.  I surfed around to Cookos and PT's websites today and saw these Console & even Track View layouts that had me drooling.  Namely, the "overall background of each individual track (Pictures below).

I know this is a highly subjective matter, but as for me, I want a screen that rivals an ice cream truck parked in front of a fireworks store.... It's easy to find what I'm looking for.  I hope the bakers will work on this option in the future.

I asked Panup about that... apparently SONAR does not (yet) support that feature so he couldn't do anything in that particular area.  Hopefully some day...

I completely agree with the Original Poster. Sonar X1 makes all tracks look the same, if I could color the track background and organize them by colored folders then it would be SO MUCH easier to quickly scan and find tracks that I need to work on or change. Right now it is tricky and I find myself often clicking on the wrong track or folder.

...and the track inspector is the perfect vehicle for custom colors. Just add a field for 'track header color' and one for 'group color' while you're at it. That is one thing about the new inspector and other changes - they are ripe for improvement, expansion and customization for the future.

    X2 perhaps?

Wow! Thanks for the Panup / SonarMods suggestions!   Cakewalk/Roland should pay this Panup guy as an advisor... The Presidents of countries have advisors... and obviously Cakewalk could use some.  The SonarMods and the SonarPlus sites are very inspiring.

The bakers are obviously very talented programmers,... but I have a funny feeling that there is some kind of "disconnect" between things that the users request and what things actually get worked on.

I just became aware of AutoHotkey today... that will hopefully calm some of my macro frustrations.

I was thinking, "Surely they've made that a possibility in X1," and thought I just wasn't finding it until I found this thread.  :/  X2, I hope...

Funny I was coming to ask about colors and found this thread near the top.

I agree more needs to be done for over all color schemes. They can be highly effective for organization. Nice pics to demonstrate.
