Glitches and crackles in track pane when moving the mouse

Hi,

I recently upgraded my workstation and have a weird behaviour. When I am playing a project and !ove my mouse over the track pane I get crackles and the time marker clearly get slowed down.

I have two screens so I have my console pane on the second screen and when I move the mouse here everything is fine but muting or soloing tracks provide some crackles as well.

I read over the forum that some users had successful workaround activating mouse trails in windows so I gave it a try and it solved the problem. I have to say that I am confused on why and if anybody had any explanation or even solution? I have setup the trail so it is barely visible but still...

I of course ran Latency checks and nothing to notice over here. It always gives me perfect results even when I am playing with the mouse over track pane...

I assume this is related to the graphic card (I am using an nVidia Asus DUAL-GTX1060-O3G which is probably overkilled but was the one provided with the setup) but could not find any settings that changed this behaviour... Any idea?

Many thanks

Is it a Logitech mouse (Wireless or non wireless) ? I've had problems with Logitech mouse's in the past.
I believe it is the software Logitech uses in conjunction with the mouse.
It could be video related, have you made sure your running the latest update of your video card drivers ?

I had this happen once; a graphics card driver update solved the problem. Also "gaming" mice are known to cause this issue.

logitech mice come up quite often as a possible cause of issues, and they are very popular devices, so maybe cakewalk should buy one for the office?

    Hi,

Thank you all for your insights. I tried to use a normal USB mouse and to update my drivers unfortunately it did not helped. I guess I'm sticked on my trailed cursors for the moment. It's not that disturbing as with the minimum tail it is as if there was none...

From time to time I'll try updated graphic drivers until at some point it got fixed...

    Many thanks again,
    Stéphane

They did. This only happens in older versions of Sonar (X3 and under as far as I know).
I use the same Logitech mouse now with no problems.
