Global Meter Settings

Greets all.... after searching and attempting fruitlessly... Has anyone been able to create a key binding or set created a configuration setting for meters to be set to RMS + Peak (one example) across busses, tracks etc? The pull down menu option each time is fine but it would be nice to have a simple key stroke or simply change the meter option by config. I've tried a key binding for meter settings but it refuses to work for whatever reason. Anyone had any success with this or can point me to a previous discussion because this has probably come up before. Thanks in advance.
